Was about to say this. Holy shit. I have every other Circa LP (and Appendage) on CD, so I figured I'd finish my collection, but $32 is insane for a CD.
Didn't expect them to use the destroyed version of the painting that came with the 2nd EP. And that price for a CD has got to be a mistake for sure ;d edit: ok I actually see it now it's a 3rd version of the artwork with some minor details added (spray-painted eyes)
Got the green boy. Cancelled my Patreon last month. this has been my favorite band since like 2004/2005. Hasn’t quite hit me yet that 2 dreams might be it
we all saw this coming but still sucks to have confirmed. may never get the proper follow up to the amulet that i know would be absolutely killer, but the two EP'S are a nice closing chapter until whatever may come next. i hope the rest of the guys are also able to stay artistically fulfilled, some more psychic babble from colin would be very welcome at this point. just hate how it all went down and while i would never go begging for some answers to what im sure is a deeply personal and complex situation from both sides, i cant help but wonder what exactly went down leading up to and following the BSN tour cancellation. and i mean that for both sides. im sure its not as it seems, which is that anthony called off the BSN tour only to head out on his own not even a few months later. there's gotta be more than meets the eye there but again their personal business is theirs. few bands have been as gracious toward their fans as they have, giving us so much great music both on their albums and through singles, EP's, demos, live sessions, etc. etc. its hard to really complain that they're going out on a note like this. ultimately i just wish them all the best in whatever they all end up doing. few bands will go down as being as important as this one to my personal growth as a human being, not just a fan of music. rock on boys.
the amulet, on letting go, juturna, and appendage all bang the hardest during cold fall months for me so ive had them in rotation lately anyway.
Them going on indefinite hiatus is fine. The idea of the band having a falling out, however big or small, breaks my heart.
This is truly gutting to me. This band is, without a doubt, my favorite band and has been for a long time now. Getting the opportunity to meet Anthony a few months ago was truly a moment in time I will never forget. To express to him how impactful his music has had on me as a listener, musician, and person and for himself to place his hand on my shoulder, look me in the eyes, and say “Do you know how fucking happy it makes me feel to be a part of your life like that” was a moment unparalleled for me. This band is so special. Their music has always mesmerized me and their shows more so. It was so easy to get lost in the music. It sounds cliche, but I felt like I was on a different realm at time as they effortless combined so many different styles together to write such compelling and powerful music. Juturna, On Letting Go, and Blue Sky Noise were such formative albums for me at 18 during my senior year of high school and they are still all-timers for me. That’s not a knock on their following releases as they still continued to release great albums and some of my favorite songs by them to date. What they did with their Patreon during the pandemic was so awesome. The sheer amount of content was almost too much to keep up with that I honestly felt spoiled. The podcast they did for a short while was cool and fun, and then monthly Q&As on Zoom were special. I wish I had attended all of them, but life got in the way, causing me to miss them for about a year and a half, but I truly am glad to have caught the last one with Colin and Brendan just before the BSN tour cancellation to not ask them a question but to express me gratitude for the band. I’ll never forget that genuine connection we had in that moment. Obviously, bands all come and go and I can’t say that I’m surprised by the announcement of their indefinite hiatus. With that said, I never expected it to go this way. I always thought that, when the band decided to hang it up, they would do one final tour and I would hit up every single Philly date and potentially every other date in the nearby area. I didn’t expect the band to go out like this. I hate to feel like there’s seemingly bad blood between certain members. The whole thing just honestly breaks my heart. I really did feel for these guys throughout the pandemic because it was evident in their appearances to us through the Patreon and interviews, among other things, that they were really going through a tough time as a band and as individuals. I selfishly hope they come back at some point, but I earnestly wish them nothing but the best. Much love to one of the best to ever do the damn thing. It’s time for a discography run.
I don't see the Patreon variant? I'm subscribed to the Patreon but no announcement since yesterday. I assume its been taken down?
on their Patreon-exclusive store. there should be a link and login info in the post history. still loads for me when i visit.
I have their entire discog on CD besides the first EP but there is no way I'm paying double for a CD (in a jewel case ew). I expect it's just a mistake on the listing since the vinyl is $32 also. $11 CD nice! Sad to see how things ended with the tour cancellation and the members in a weird place. I hope that it's just temporary.
Ah, found it. There are like 4 or 5 stores for the various vinyl lol. Kind of wanna see if they offer any UK/EU shop for it…
looks like BrooklynVegan will have an exclusive gold marble variant as well (link not active yet). https://shop.brooklynvegan.com/prod...ted-edition-only-500-made-golden-marble-vinyl info from this linktree. Circa Survive - Two Dreams
So many variants. I actually like the clear splatter variant the most so far. The Patreon one isn't more limited than the rest either, so kind of feels like its not overly special in that sense?
clear splatter is my second favorite, and i almost got it, but those kinds have been hit or miss for me in the past, lol. plus my boyfriend is also a fan of these EPs and thought the orange looked sick, so i figured it was probably a better investment.
Anyone getting issues with Circa patreon? It seems lots of stuff is Tier 2 and it won't let me access, including the latest announcement, but I had the e-mail with the post content to my inbox? Seems weird..
bummed to hear about the hiatus, especially considering i had tickets to the BSN tour that obviously never came to pass. hope they decide to pick things back up again at some point down the line.
