Descensus is an underrated favorite of mine. have fond memories of spinning it the first time it dropped.
It really just comes down to the high end being overly rolled off. Drums sound muffled, vocals don't sparkle enough. You can EQ it to sound pretty good, which obviously is a far better problem to have than something like BSN. But un-EQ'd, it still sounds dulled enough to lessen my enjoyment.
thats fair. i took what i could get - but i really honestly dont mind it, especially when i compare it to plenty of other current popular alt stuff.
Damn, I’ve been out of the loop but kind of glad I missed all the speculation in here. The Amulet still sits as there best for me, but almost a year later and I’m still loving the EPs.
its almost og circa season. i started early. havent listened to them in a long while actually. ant sang pretty differently then than he does now. he was fully committed to belting but never screaming. different melody writing too. i have my preferences but it makes me think i appreciate that he has reinvented himself several times now to keep things fresh.
The Glorious Nosebleed is an astounding song in the history of the scene. The first half of Juturna alone is peerless.
Circa Survive 'Blue Sky Noise' Remastered Clear Blue W/ Blue,Yellow & Red Splatter Neat looking variant.
Thank you! Thank you! I've missed out on the other represses and didn't want to spend on resales. You just made my day!
Hope you were able to grab some! My 2014 pressing of Juturna skips during the first verse of Holding Someone’s Hair Back and I just found out about it one or two years ago so I’m excited to grab another pressing since finding out!
Ah dang, glad you’re able to get a new pressing now though! And yep, I was able to snag a copy of both
I ordered it. My card was charged. Never got a receipt. Checked on it again and it’s gone from my card and sold out. Pissssed
Went for the OLG pressing, went through checkout, international shipping was more than the record itself, couldn't justify it. Really wish I could get hold of this bands stuff without killing my bank account.
Indeed, its pretty much what we'd expected. I think they were fairly transparent without being specific previously.
Bummer. Really hope things work out to the point where they could get back to things running in a couple years.
For sure. The odds on it happening have to be quite high, but we'll see I guess. Re-listening to Juturna for the first time in quite a while to mark the occasion. I actually haven't listened to it much in the past few years because I'm always listening to their newer stuff. Speaks for how great that they are, that their catalogue has always kept me super interested.
