Whaaaaaat, I had no idea, damn cool

 

Just learned about that as well, and it's super rad. He appears on some promotional shots Poppy has done with her current live band.

 

Ok so I that made me finally check out what Poppy sounds like ;d ;d on the other hand, I too am obviously concerned after that last statement. Not about some of them "not being as close to each other compared to others", cause it's actually just normal, I think, but yeah all the best to them!

 

I think anyone is in denial if they think things don't look dire! The last line of that post "When there is more to be said you will be the first to hear it". It's clear that a break up is an option on the table. It's not like it would be the first time either, so it shouldn't be too surprising.

Anthony just got announced as support for Thursday's tour later this year. He'll carry on doing his thing, along with Saosin and other projects. I'd be surprised if they don't go on a hiatus now for a few years, maybe longer. It's a long time for a band to keep going without any real big breaks.

 

The Shed Session videos they have been posting on Patreon are really cool, and beautifully shot. Having Keith sitting in for keys is always a winner too. Incorporating Daft Punk into Drift was unexpected but lovely

When ant goes off on late nap "I SUFFER EVERY NIGHT" still guts me

 

I cried listening to the chorus of Late Nap a couple days ago. I enjoy these EPs more and more over time. Some truly special stuff on both of them

 

Got back to both of them yesterday as well and it's some stunning work!

Find myself vibing with the new EPs more and more over time. Imposter Syndrome, Even Better, Curitiba, and Late Nap are among my favorite Circa songs now. Drift and Buzzhenge are rising up the ranks too.

Love this band and just felt compelled to share that these EPs rule.

 

I'm still vibing with these eps the most out of all the Anthony output from this year.

However, much like when Anthony pronounces anesthetize as anestisize, it still bothers me that he seems to unintentionally mix his metaphors in Our Last Shot with by the hair of your teeth. I've heard others use this before so he's not alone, but to me it's clearly a weird bastardization of missed it by a hair and by the skin of your teeth. Hell, even in Handshakes at Sunrise, who are replacing us? has always sort of irked me. The guy is an incredibly emotive songwriter, but sometimes I wish someone would catch these things in the studio lol.

On the podcast from the patreon, they all joked at how McTernan was constantly trying to edit his lyrics. "Are you sure you want to say it like that Anthony? I don't think you meant to say impotence here." And there's a vid of Yip saying "are you sure Ambry is pronounced like that?" in the studio recording Never Tell a Soul. That shit cracks me up.

 

Oh is there a video source of them in the studio with yip?

That only makes me feel better as a person who writes stuff in a second language hahh, it usually really keeps me stressed, I go through the lyrics dozens of times to not have any errors in them (and I always find some eventually).

 

Amazing to see how far Yip has come in those 10 years. Always happy to see his name attached to projects after these past few years.

 

Funny, I've been seeing the price of the VW vinyl creep up and had me thinking about selling mine.
