Wild coming in here and realizing these albums aren't just universally praised. ADAD is my favorite and in my opinion the best music they've ever put out, without exception. Heartbreakingly good. Jesus it's gonna take me some time to process this album. I've been listening nonstop since they added on their Patreon at 6pm P on Thursday. I think Discount on Psychic Readings has taken over my favorite song spot from Kicking Your Crosses Down.
First and foremost I'm an Anthony Green fan more than a Circa Survive fan, which I know isn't the majority of people in this thread. There's many of his albums outside of Circa that I enjoy more than a lot of Circa's material, and of course certain Circa albums are among my favorites of his as well. The point I am trying to get at here is that this new EP might not "sound like Circa" or whatever, but it's damn good music that Anthony and crew have put together. The fact that he can do so many different things and it all is pretty fucking good is why he's such a musical anomaly. Anyway, this EP is really good.
Loved ADAL. I gotta say y'all hyped Buzzhenge like crazy and wow it absolutely delivered. Got chills on both listens, even almost teared up the second time. They somehow simultaneously brought me back to the feels of YFAG and The Amulet, just ridiculous. Gosh I'm at a loss, amazed how I started listening to these guys at 15 and now at almost 30 they still blowing me away.
After listening to Curitiba again I don't know why initially it didn't resonate, might just be the second best song on here.
yeah the groove of buzzhenge is the sort of thing that made me fall in love with this band as a teenager. what an awesome song.
I'm an Anthony Green fan, but weirdly not a fan of his solo stuff. I've listened plenty, and sure I've dug some tracks, but I think he shines in a band setting. I've always found his solo stuff a bit uninspired. I really am a massive fan of him though.
Could not be more grateful to be alive at the same time as this band and to experience this music with all of you. This is some really beautiful and powerful stuff.
Would You Still Be With Strings is phenomenal. Would love to hear Circa reimagine some songs with Summer Swee-Singh.
interestingly i am pretty sure that electric moose and buzzhenge have been working titles for tracks dating back several album cycles
listening to amulet again i think there are parts of songs that it seems could have benefited from being in their new style. Lustration, The Hex, F and B, Indra. its kind of fun to think about. we know they like to retool songs. the reworked electronic Oh Hello they released to the patreon might be my facorite song of theirs now.
I’ve been a fan for years truth is these 2 eps suck so bad. I’m afraid this band is going to break up
