I guess if you pre-ordered the first EP, you'll still get it much earlier than the other one, so well, it's normal - they could be releasing other items every few weeks.

Whereas if it's possible to get them together at the same time - they should add an option to now join orders or something.

Oh, get it. Well, I'd be confused if it's impossible to combine either then.

    obliterate all prior things

as far as my circa vinyl collection goes, i try to be content to own at least 1 of each release. Historically, there's almost no way to avoid that disappointment feeling because a cooler repress is always a possibility down the road. I have first pressings of most things which is awesome in its own right, even though i'm almost always jealous of the new color variants and deluxes and shit when they get announced. I'm not trying to fall into that rabbit hole of collecting them all, which is easy when you're poor.

I will happily double pay for this band. They have brought me 1000s of hours of enjoyment and Im sure have had an awful 2 years with all the tour delays. Keep Circa going 2022

I’m also trying to have one vinyl copy of everything they’ve released. I have all their albums so far, The Inuit Sessions, the OLG b-sides, and The Amulet b-sides. I don’t have the splits they released during the VW and Descensus eras, but that’s fine because they are expensive whenever I come across them.

With that said, I was devastated when I finally put on Juturna. I bought the 2014 repress through EVR’s online store, but didn’t get around to listening to it until last year (I took a loooong time to set up my record player setup lol) and it skips during Holding Someone’s Hair Back. Also, the last few songs on VW sound fucking awful. As for Descensus, Nesting Dolls is notably iffy during the outro (I’d have to give it another listen, but I was getting a similar vibe that I got from the last few songs on VW) and the locked groove at the end of Descensus doesn’t even lock in rhythm lol

Thankfully, my pressings of OLG, BSN, and The Amulet sound great, but I was mega bummed when I FINALLY put some of these records on and there were notable issues with them

I actually have all the same issues LOL. My first pressing of BSN is fucked as well.

I hope they repress VW and Descensus some day so that these issues can hopefully be corrected, especially VW. I've definitely heard/read that people have had problems with the initial pressing of BSN. Thankfully, my ten-year anniversary edition of BSN rules. I haven't listened to my 2018 repressing of it yet though so who knows how that is.

This is very fresh in my memory because I literally just listened to it but he was on the The NEW Scene Podcast back in December 2020 and he mentioned most of these things being in the works and that who knows when any of it will come out. I think he even mentioned maybe who the other secret band members were but it was like 4 hour long podcast so I just kind of tuned out. But I definitely remember him saying Sao was working on new stuff and TSOAF, guys from taking back sunday and he said that Tucker Rule had sent him a song... I swear he mentioned some other people that he was working with but just can't pull it at the moment.

Oh yeah, those two episodes were the bomb, loved it - usually I would feel overwhelmed with the long hours, but it felt ok. I think he didn't really disclose what the other new band was, but he definitely said some people would send him songs.

vinyl is an inherently inferior medium and i havent actually listened to anything in my collection in nearly 3 years. my records and turntable have been sitting under my bed at my parents house for the last year and a half. outside the physical ownership of a piece of art there's no pros to listening to vinyl for me, and it takes up space i dont have and costs me money i dont have

I used to collect band tees. Have maybe 1-2 now and the rest got donated. Can't do as many shows as I used to so buy vinyl to support the band and have something tangible. But I'm with you, barely ever sit down and listen to em. Prefer the spotfiy / headphone set up

lol i buy merch as my main way to support now because i actually get use out of t-shirts and hoodies and jackets and shit because thats mainly all i wear is band merch. and i order it online through band's websites so i assume they still make decent money from those sales

Listening to albums on vinyl sounds a hell of a lot better than CD if you have a decent player and set-up. Yeah, it takes time, effort, and occasionally costly maintenance, but the reward is absolutely worth it in my opinion.

Rooms of the House and In Rainbows are my two favorite vinyls for that reason. Way more dynamic. But Im lazy

This is probably a discussion for a different thread, but if you have your CD player and record player running through the same system, I would hesitate to say that a "decent" record player would really sound better than CD. They sound different, and the ritualistic, intentional, and analog nature of vinyl CAN bring more enjoyment, but from a pure 1s and 0s standpoint, I think CDs sound more accurate.

if you value things like surface noise and the little pops and crackles that naturally occur with vinyl i see why you would think that, though that added 'color' lets call it doesnt lend itself very well to every genre and my collection spans a wide variety of styles, like yeah one of my fleet foxes records sounds awesome on a turntable but my jay z albums dont lol. its very genre dependant on whether its going to sound enhanced by the natural features of vinyl. but when you take into account the fragile nature of vinyl thats a whole other layer to consider, unless you have the absolute perfect storage environment. and having lived in tiny apartments for the last 5 years with terrible heating and cooling, most of my collection has unfortunately been susceptible to both minor and major warping issues. plus falling victim to a warped record right out of the package has happened to me on several occasions. my nice JBL studio monitors running through an apollo twin audio interface with incredible d/a converters makes my digital library, even when streaming (although i do stream at the highest possible quality) sound pretty fucking nice.

This is the way. I consider vinyl strictly a collectors' item. The art is cool. Sometimes you get lyrics and other goodies that aren't available elsewhere. It's a good way to support bands you love.

But it's absolutely inferior to lossless digital audio in every way. I bought a decent turntable 4 years ago and have probably averaged using it 1-2x/year. If I could snap my fingers and end the mass obsession with vinyl so bands would stop basing release dates on pressing delays, I would.
