Kicking Your Crosses Down is my favorite song from my favorite Circa album, love that one.

 

Close Your Eyes to see is my favorite Circa song.
Your Friends Are Gone and Cross are probably 2/3 respectively

 

Also the opening to In The Morning... remains one of my favorite peices of guitar work ever

Betcha can guess what my favorite album is lol. I can feel a big Circa kick coming on

 

Close Your Eyes is one of the very best on OLG. Perfect fucked up windy guitars all over the verses and chorus and an off the wall vocal melody. Very underrated around here it seems which doesn't say a whole lot since there's like 10 active members on these Circa threads. Makes no sense tho.

 

Can't believe more people don't love it. The bridge and how effortlessly perfect that melody bleeds into the chorus makes it an easy favorite of mine.

 

I adore Close Your Eyes. Such a powerful penultimate track.

Close Your Eyes is so great. Driving beat and fantastic lyrics and melody from Anthony. It's such a great penultimate track and I underrated it for years before really appreciating it last year.

 

It's a great song and the first two seconds are really really sick. My friend says that's his favorite from olg. I think Carry Us Away detracts from it somehow, haha.

 

Also I think the band loves it too, they called the demo Sexy Groovy song or something like that haha

 

Carry Us Away might be my least favorite on the album, which is strange because it was one ofnthe first on the album to really click with me. It's still really good though. I love the verses to it.

 

It sounded really sweet live when they finally played it for the OLG reunion tour. And yeah I love the weird feedback tones in the verse. I think it's got an immediate chorus and because of that I always thought it would have served the album really well as a lead single. After all these years, I'm done trying to understand what this band decides to issue and not issue as singles tho lmao especially recently.

I've always had a soft spot for it. I feel like it's a simpler more straight forward track but with some nice melodies. And yeah by simple, I mean by comparison to the rest of OLG, not by comparison to say, some BSN or VW tracks.

 

Carry Us Away might be my least favorite on OLG but I love literally every song so that's not a bad thing

 

CUA is the sole reason I consider OLG a 4.5 star album and not a 5 star album

 

Jesus it's not even bad tho

I probably like it more than anything off the next 3 albums

 

just read through all of the lyrics to The Amulet, and damn i didn't realize how good they are, and there's definitely a concept or at least a theme to all of it. can't wait to hear some interviews from Anthony about the story behind the lyrics.

 

yea I can't wait to get into On letting go more, I paused for a nap after the second track will resume my discog run tonight. Will be posting wild opinions and hot takes in here. feel free to criticize my opinions

 

The different between... such an amazing song, seriously a top 10 circa song. Those vocals god damn

 

Something about the bass drum and the simple pluck of the D and G string in the intro of crosses is just soooooo perfect

 

It's actually that song and the production that take it down that little bit for me.

Yeah dude these are Anthony's best lyrics for... pretty much anything. Really spoke to me.

It's sooooooooo good. Seeing that live definitely opened things up for me. All the lights, everyone smiling, Anthony going ham right up to the crowd, and balloons and designs all seemed so positive and happy. Any time I say the word "celebration", I immediately get hit with the mental image of that moment. Unbelievable.

On crosses now, it is a cool song, do the acoustic strings squeaking bother anyone else? I do like this album way more than I realized.

 

I think anthony is way better at emoting in his lower register now than he was back in 2007

 

Nah it adds character

 

Just hit play on BSN, love strange terrain. Mix is so different than the first two albums

 

Get out, what a freaking song. I must have listened to this 1000 times when it came out
