my favorite Anthony vocals on this album are on "The Amulet" its the low stuff that I love on that song, IDK why. Very pleasing tone in those choruses. @Deathco_019 the time changes on this album are so smooth, you don't even notice them half the time.. and they don't feel forced or done just to be done.. like let me write a riff thats in 7 bc its cool to write in 7, its more like heres this sick riff and it just happens to be in 7.
is Circa prog rock? I've never known how to define this band. too me they are Prog-Post Hardcore-Alt Rock?
yup. I'm on "In Fear and Faith" and just being blown away by how good this is. it doesn't make sense for a debut LP to be this good.
The sheer folly and insolence on display here beggars belief. THEY ARE SO SINGULARLY UNIQUE THAT THEY DEFY YOUR ARBITRARY HUMAN GENRE CLASSIFICATIONS
Gotcha. That was my least favorite for a while, but it has reallllllllly grown on me in the past year. Seeing it live during the 10 year tour was also a treat.
Really? Even 16 year old me thought that song was awesome when I first heard it. I think it was the flamenco sounding guitars in the chorus that sold me.
Crosses is maybe objectively the most creative track on the whole album and easily top 5 for listening imo
Crosses is a fantastic song. The songs that took some time to grow on me are The Greatest Lie, Travel Hymn, and Close Your Eyes To See. The Greatest Lie is actually one of my favorite songs by them now and I love that they brought it back into heavy rotation on the Descensus tour cycle.
