so this was the most i enjoyed a circa record after my first listen since OLG. really really enjoyed this.
Upon first listen my initial reaction is to say this is okay, with Flesh and Bone easily being my favorite track, but perhaps it will grow on me. Their last few records never grew on me so I’m not too optimistic but we shall see, I’ll definitely give it a few more spins. I didn’t pay too much attention to this album before it came out so I’m a little surprised it’s only ten tracks tbh
Stay is quite possibly the album highlight. Reminds me of "Oh, Hello" in that it's a whirlwind of intensity and packs so many twists into its sub-3 minute runtime. Seems like "Flesh and Bone" is the consensus favorite so far, but it's bottom half for me. All the "guitars and vocals blend together" tracks people are struggling with are exactly what I wanted from these guys and finally got it this album.
BSN alternate art that was on the deluxe vinyl was so awesome. Probably my biggest vinyl sell regret.
Yeah it def has an outro feel, now I gotta make a redone track list and it's gonna waste my dumb ass life thanks
Ok, I did a re sequence: 1. Lustration 2. Never tell a soul 3. The Amulet 4. Stay 5. Premonition of the Hex 6. Tunnel Vision 7. It gets worse at night 8. Flesh and bone 9. The Hex 10. Rites of investiture It feels good, Amulet works great as a track 3, this also helped me get less muddy on the energy they have that is pretty consistent throughout the album.
Waiting on my delayed preorder like a lot of other people, so I refreshed Spotify right at 9pm last night for my first listen. Everyone that listened to the leak had me worried, but I really enjoyed it right away.
This is next on tap for me. Hope I like it. Besides BSN I haven't been in love with anything else they have done sadly.
maybe, idk I just feel weird doing it.. like this album wasn't mastered to flow this way you know? occasionally if i want to freshen it up Ill listen to an album on shuffle, but I view that as just listening to single songs that happen to be all on the same album
