I missed the OLG tour too and was really bummed about it. Super glad I was able to catch the Juturna tour though.
Was really great when he had the toy car in his guitar. Too funny. Can’t believe this is gonna raise close to $12k
Man, I always forget how tight Avalon is. I don't listen to Anthiny's solo stuff often, but this album is hitting the spot for me today.
Donated and watching the live stream he did. I love this guy so much. He raised a tonne of money with this, very cool.
Well, small delay on the vinyl (ships sometime next week)... So I guess I'm just gonna listen to the leak. (merchnow sent a digital download, but it was only 160kbps. hahaha)
WELP thats lame, but realistically I won't have time to spin the wax version all weekend anyways if it did show up, so I'm not too worried. Nice that they included a 20% discount from hopeless though
Circa Survive has lots and lots of die-hard fans. It was crazy going to the Q&A because so many people were like, "I played my Mom your music when she died." "You spoke to my son with autism and he gets excited every time he hears your voice." Crazy stuff that you can tell really shakes the band up and makes them realize what their music is capable of.
I've heard the record and it filled my cold empty heart with love. Part of that excitement was because it's very anti immediate, which is a very good thing for this band. Standouts were 1, 8, 9, and 10
The album is so intense, musically. They seemed like they just went nuts on this album. Especially the drums. Oh! The drums! What a solid album. Portugal, Brand New, and this within 3 months of each other is ridiculous. This entire year, in fact, has been an incredible one for music. Year-end lists will be crowded.
Yeah, it really doesn't let up. Like there's hardly a time where there's one instrument playing on its own, I think. Always moving forward, even on flesh and bone. My immediate reaction is that I thought it would jam more like Lustrations outdo. But all told, it's the most similar to Juturna of all their stuff.
