Aww damn he only remembered the first bit of it haha. That song needs to end up on an album of his some day, maybe a solo album. Loved it since I heard it during the BSN sessions.
Whyyy tf are all these people requesting all this bullshit stuff he's obviously not going to cover or know. Seriously wtf lol
Songs that he's played are: Lustration The Amulet Every Way Dear Child Miracle Sun Slowing Down East Coast Winters Diamond Eyes (Deftones Cover) Modern Woman (Tennis Cover) There's a handful of others that I am either forgetting or covers I didn't know or new songs
Definitely in the mood to revisit his solo discography, but I'm so tired and have work tomorrow, so maybe I'll make time in the morning or the evening to listen to an album or two. Really wanna hit Avalon and Pixie Queen again.
Hearing The Amulet with the syncopated swing feel was cool as hell. I love Anthony so much. $10,000 in, what, an hour and a half?
This is, without a shred of doubt, my favorite band. Anthony Green is such a great guy and this band has helped shape who I am as a person to this day. I hope some day I get an opportunity to talk with Anthony, even if it's just for 5-10 minutes. God damn, I gotta catch Circa and Anthony solo whenever they come around. Seriously, seeing Anthony's solo act last fall was one of the most surprisingly fun shows I've ever been to. Didn't know what to expect having never gone to one of his solo shows before, but I was so glad I went.
I'm probably actually going to die at the VIP session in December. Since it's billed as an actual meet and greet I think I'll even be able to talk to Anthony, albeit briefly. I'm probably going to write him/them a letter like I did for Julien Baker to express my feelings. That'll be a lot better than trying to slobber them all out right there. And yeah, definitely my favorite band. I love everything they do and everything they stand for.
OLG tour was the first time I've missed Circa in I don't even know how long. They're so great live and I really try my best to never miss them
I've done the VIP package twice, once in 2014 and again earlier this year for OLG. You'll absolutely get a chance to meet and talk with some of the members. I, personally, have not gotten the chance to speak with Anthony because he's left the room after the performance/Q&A both times. Maybe that's because I've seen him in Philly and his family is usually there so he probably goes off to spend more time with them (I would too). However, I've gotten to have full-on conversations with Nick twice, as well as Steve and Brendan. I definitely want to do the VIP package again sometime, maybe for the next tour. Philly VIP sold out quick.
Damn I cut it out before Tennis, was not expecting that. One of my favorite albums of the year and favorite bands ever.
That's really great. I know this time around they are doing a "meet and greet" in place of the Q&A, which is why I'm wondering if I'll have a better opportunity to talk to him for at least a minute or two. I know they're also doing a photo opportunity which will be awesome. I am ridiculously excited. I hope I can nerd the fuck out to Steve about drumming for a while lol.
I hope you do! Be sure to let me know how the experience goes for you! Also, let's nerd out about drums and Steve's drumming sometime please haha
Oh we have to. The new band I'm starting to jam with has some Circa/Glassjaw/Deftones vibes, so I'm unabashedly tapping into his influence HARD. I'll send you some demos and shit once we get to that point.
