I just bought myself a new pair of headphones for my bday. This album came out just in time to break them in. The songs where there are sort of two lead guitars really make these bad boys flex their muscles. In love
One thing is clear listening to the amulet and descensus back to back is that Anthony's vocals are much cleaner on the new record
Descensus is very urgent vocally, maybe their most. It's like Anthony needed to sing every lyric as hard as possible.
With this new record I now see it was very intentional. Since he proves here has the ability to sing cleaner. Very impressed with this bands discography.. they are climbing my all time list for sure with their consistency
I feel like they have to get to ten records and the final one is just the safecamp logo for the cover. It would just be perfect. Or better yet, 10 final Eps that make up LP10. And yes I know safecamp symbol is not the Roman numeral for 10. But in this instance. ID like it to be. Also know it's obnoxious to think that far ahead when I've listened to LP 6 under 10 times.
i never thought I Felt Free was a bad song, but not a fan of Imaginary Enemy. They should have replaced that with "Stare Like You'll Stay". the other songs on Appendage are great but don't really fit the album.
Imaginary Enemy is the song I generally recommend people listen to first. I just feel like it showcases everything the band does to some degree, while also remaining decently accessible.
Blue Sky Noise is fantastic. Sure, I think I Felt Free and Imaginary Enemy are weaker songs on the album, but they're still good songs. And, yeah, rearranging tracklists to your liking always seemed dumb to me in most cases.
Longest Mile is still my favorite track there. I can't remember, was that an odd opinion in here months back? To me it's obvious though. Outside of Ants amazing vocal melody in the verse of Fever Dreams, I never found much else to like in that track.
I love fever dreams, such a cool little song. Love how they use that sort of cliche harmonic minor chord progression to their advantage on that song
I do love me some Fever Dreams. Hearing that song live both times I saw them over the summer was a treat.
Yeah I'd like to hear it live again simply because Ants vocals sore on the verse. It must be pretty hard to sing that.
I do enjoy the Safe Camp sessions version of I Felt Free. I think it works better as an acoustic song
ill always go to bat for Imaginary Enemy i love that song. this band could keep doing this for the next like 10 years, just releasing a solid album that mixes things up just enough but stays true to their sound, and I'd be more than happy
