First listen, and this is really good. I'm digesting the songs, but my first impression is: this album, for me, is the spiritual successor of "juturna" and "on letting go"...This is really close what i wanted trough the years...
In a previous Anthony's interview, he said this album is about Life, Death and Rebirth.... In "Lustration" there is something about birth... In the end of "The Amulet", after the "suposed suicide", Anthony uses the french term "revenant", a term used for people wich was dead and return to life - a rebirth?!
Very fair .... I'm really curious about the album's subject and the real meaning too Anthony's falsetto sounds really good with the vibe of the all songs that it is used... The doubles "Tunnel Vision" and "At Night It gets Worse", and "Flesh and Bone" and "The Amulet" are amazing...
This shows to us that there is really good songs in the album.... Now, i'm in love with "Tunnel Vision"...
I don't think anything could have prepared me for Flesh And Bone and The Amulet. Both of those songs are just on another level. The Amulet actually brought tears to my eyes. Wow. I'm kind of stunned.
Oh man, didn't you listen, previously, "the amulet"? Yes, this song is amazing, insane, perfect... Previously, i said that this song is for me, musically, "house of leaves 2.0"...
I did not. I didn't want to hear the closer out of context from the rest of the album. I'm very happy with my decision because, man, it really knocked me out after Flesh And Bone.
Some songs grew on. The more I listen the more I pick up on some very interesting parts. Still wishing it were heavier. I actually get similar vibes to the Appendage EP the more I listen. Cant complain about it. I love that EP. I would also like to point out that the production on Amulet is great.
Yes man, i respect you. I wanted the same for me, but i was very anxious... Flesh And Bone is really great... is very similar with live acoustic performances... but the studio's version is in another level, as you said.
the hand that falls will beat into your skull come pouring out you're hoping to see why you don't show any emotion you feel that breaking you open to feel our wild force
I don't think I have the language to articulate this at this point but this sounds like it was mixed strangely. I'm enjoying it so far though.
Not that I can't say this about every Circa record, but there are multiple songs that make me want to quit playing drums. Steve is insane and probably my favorite drummer.
