After my first listen, I'm not sure what to think. Some really great tracks in there, but quite a few forgettable ones as well. Some of my favorites were Flesh and Bone, At Night It Gets Worse, and Stay. Very short, quick album.
I'll have to give this more listens, hard to really have thoughts on it yet. A lot of it blended together for me. Lustration and Flesh and Bone stuck out as songs I really liked though.
I feel like the vocals are intentionally buried so that they blend in with the instrumentals and I really really like the effect here
Never tell a soul you expect him to go into one of his growls and instead it's the cleanest vocal ever.. freakin love it
I'm on my first listen, about halfway through. This isnt doing a ton for me, not sure. Nothing's really grabbing me, the production's muddy too. Surprised people are going so crazy over this, seems about what to expect from Circa and Will Yip.
Is the production muddy or are the vocals just buried? Clear difference, I feel that they intentionally buried too. Can you not hear the guitars and cymbols clearly? I think they cut really nice, I can always hear with the different guitar parts are doing.
I'm not minding the production so far tbh it's not perfect but it's the best they've sounded in literal years
I feel like circa always gets a little lost when all the parts are going crazy. Anthony's vocals and the high end of the guitars blend a bit. But I think that is intentional.
I think the moments where the guitars drop out are some of the coolest on the album bc of this, provide a nice contrasts
First listen, & I'm in love. This def embraces that spacey, mellower Circa-vibe I've always been drawn to the most.
