It's a good representation of it - it's the heaviest song on the album I suppose but the vibe on it is similar throughout
takes me a while with most things honestly. It's why I don't spend much time listening to new music these days.
My first impressions are rarely way off, but they have been a handful of times. Anyway, I can definitely understand someone having mixed feelings on "Rites." But it's, like, almost objectively better (read: more interesting sonically and melodically) than "Schema" or "Child of the Desert" or some of their other recent heavy growlers, so I can only assume the folks who are unimpressed weren't high on those either?
I like this new song, but I fucking love Schema. That locked drum/bass groove in the first verse gives me life
neither of these songs are doing anything for me outside of, "yeah, cool, definitely Circa." i hope in context i like them more.
my music taste being broad to the point of insanity definitely helps me have a pretty good pulse on whether I dig something quickly. Now over time that could go either way, either really growing to love it or it falling by the wayside but initially I can tell if something is up my alley right away
I'm seeing them tonight! In a tiny room! On the last night of tour! I expect things to get weird and rowdy and emotional and I am incredibly excited.
hey same! Driving 3.5 hours each way but whatever. It'll be worth it. Holding my breath that they might wanna pull Rites out of their back pocket or something
Nice! I'm quite fortunate with only about a 45 minute drive (more or less). I'd love to hear that one, but I'll also be totally fine if they keep the same setlist they've played the last two shows.
yeah I was hoping they'd play some new stuff live not really liking the setlists I've read for this tour
Excited to give this a spin tonight - I've been on a real Circa kick lately so it got sent to me at the ultimate time, also super excited for Drew's interview with Anthony.
