It’s funny, Lustration came up on shuffle today and the lyrics struck me in a way they hadn’t before, particularly the part you highlighted. The way he delivers that verse is really moving

"Nesting Dolls" and "Think of Me" did it better.

It's pretty, but it's super bland and kinda wastes almost every strength this band has, besides Ant's voice obviously.

 

Think of Me is probably my least favorite Circa song. Nesting Dolls is god tier, though.

 

But phantasmagoria exists. And I felt free too

 

Think of Me has some really nice ideas but falls short as a song. Kinda feels like they were going for a Kicking Your Crosses Down type song but missed what made the earlier song special.

F&B melodies and guitar lines are written so much better.

Phantasmagoria is one of their bests

 

It sounds like an AG solo song to me.
But I guess that might be a silly distinction.

 

Flesh and Bone is superb

 

People say the same thing about the Appendage songs but they're still among their best songs.

Appendage is one of the best EPs I've ever listened to and I would even put it up against full albums. Just banger after banger

 

What's the general consensus about Every Way? Full band or acoustic?

I prefer acoustic. All the feels

 

Full band. The drum groove in the verses and soaring guitars in the choruses are LUSH AS FUCK.

Probably a top 3 Circa song for me.

Might be my least favorite Circa album. His solo records are pretty hard for me to rank as well.

 

Every Way is the only song on that EP I don't enjoy.
