Yeah seriously.. I was gonna drive to Austin, but when I saw the setlist I was disappointed they weren't playing the whole thing or at least most of it. Setlist was tight, but I mainly wanted to hear The Amulet
I Felt Free is a song that I never need to hear again Difference Between has been played every single show since 2007. When almost every single other OLG song is better. Still love it though.
Just an odd song to point to as top-tier, or quintessential, Circa song imo. It's by far one of their most straight forward songs. And I'd say that Anthony's lyrics are a part of what makes circa "circa"........which anthony didnt write that song. To be clear though, I dont dislike "I Felt Free".
Eh, I don't think it's close to the best they've done either, but weird to assert that because they took a different approach to writing that it shouldn't qualify as someone's favourite.
Don’t actively dislike it, the only album I really enjoy is BSN and the rest feels a little too focused on the atmosphere/progginess for my taste. Prefer those straight forward rock bangers
Is I Felt Free a fine song? Maybe. Idk why bands want to write songs that sound like that. The bridge and verses especially. Its inoffensive but boring as hell.
Sounds to me like maybe a decently cool idea from the Juturna/OLG era was forcibly sculpted into a "single!" for their Atlantic debut. It isn't hard at all to imagine the core musical idea, esp chorus, fitting into a vintage spacey Circa tune. Imaginary Enemy is the one that's really devoid of anything musically interesting, IMO.
It's got a rakwing solo for all the rawkers in all of us. But seriously the verses are kinda cool but overall, a snoozer
