I've been found out :o Excuse me, but what happened to Suspending Disbelief and Handshakes At Sunrise? P.S. This is dope and I will join you soon
Wait, I'm realizing @CoffeeEyes17 didn't include Suspending Disbelief and Handshakes At Sunrise because they were officially released through an EP
This is hanging in my bedroom. Gave me a Double take. I'd listen to the above album. That is for damn sure
Yeah I like it a lot, and I'm warming up to it. Though I feel it could have been trimmed down a bit. Can't wait for this album though.
can someone who doesnt like the outro to descensus but does like the outro to lustration explain why to me? genuinely curious. the main two differences i can see is brevity in the case of lustration, and that the vocals are falsetto instead of Anthony's lower register.
Honestly Descensus has such an awesome Isis like riff I love it so much. Don't really see a similarity to Lustration because the end of Descensus is super chuggy/kinda sludge where's I feel Lustrarion kinda goes out on a much somber feel.
it gives me a similar feeling of stripping down and then slowly adding back instruments to close out a song. i think its a valid comparison.
Chord progression is definitely similar as well. I got those vibes real hard too. I like both parts but this one is a bit shorter than the outro to descensus, also feel the the rest of he song is a bit stronger which helps. Descensus is one of my least favorites on descensus lol
i actually love the chorus of descension, right before it breaks into the extended outro. i dunno, i came to this type of music through metal, and while i didnt listen to ISIS (a lot of people say it sounds like them) it does give me other tech, math metal vibes like Meshuggah. i think its sick.
the end of the track Descensus is really cool but I hated all the parts leading up to it. when they played that stripped down completely reworked version of it back stage during the OLG tour it sounded pretty cool though
The verses feel underwhelming. The drumming rules but the guitars do the easy 3/4 chords and the vocals do the same pattern on top of the guitars. The intro and outro vocals have the same pattern. Chorus seems decent but the melodies aren't sticking with me
