Can't decide whether or not this tops BSN to crack my top 3, but its the best thing they've done in a long time and reignited my love for them as one of my favourite bands after going cool on them for a few years.
This tops everything but OLG for me. This is the best mix of songwriting/production this band has ever had, in my opinion.
OLG still number one, but I think I'm ready to say this beats out Juturna for #2. I still need to do a better job with the lyrics though. I can only sing along to like 30% max :( I realized with Descensus I can't sing along worth crap, which is weird cause I know a good chuck of VW even though it's bottom for me.
I wish I liked Juturna as much as everyone else. It’s a solid record but I find it boring more often than not.
Just got my tix for the Amulet tour I think it might be like my 20th time seeing these dudes. lol Might have to do a deepdive on SetList.fm to get a final number
Also, sounds like they'll be touring this record around the world. So one can assume for sure some Europe dates. Which is dope, because honestly with them you never know when they'll come back, since they don't play huge venues here.
Any time I've noticed that they've been over here it's always been as support and I've held off going - hope they do some headline show, even some place small in London.
Yeah, the last tour was annoying. Never would I have imagined them co-headlining with Rx Bandits. Maybe its because I was never into them, but just seemed to make no sense. Sets were slightly shorter because of it too.
I always remember and forget that, but I also never got into Rx Bandits and in my head they're just a "Drive Thru Records" band ha.
They evolved into a really unique and different band after the drive thru days but I've always loved them
But to be fair, my original point was the fact Rx Bandits co-headlined, and not Circa by themselves. Didn't think Rx Bandits were as popular as Circa ever, or still.
Yeah, it's not weird as such but a co-headline in the UK is a little odd, that being said, they probably did that to play the venues that they did rather than smaller spaces/less touring opportunities they may have had on this side of the pond if one or the other did it alone at that time.
I hope he knows how adored he is by his real fans. Even his less than perfect performances stand up against anyone else I've seen just because of how much emotion he puts into his work. You can tell when he's on stage that he's trying to give the crowd an experience.
there was some discussion on here about his live vocals.. started by me. He's awesome and to do the stuff that he does night in and night out is legendary. I shoudn't have said anything who knows what goes on these shows, especially the electric factory. I just went and deleted all my posts too.. Circa is one of my favorite bands though and their body of work can be help up to any band. I'm really hoping that it wasn't this forum he was referencing...
He is my favorite vocalist, lyricist, and performer by a long shot. I’ve seen some great stuff from him and some misses but he always fucking brings it. Keep it up AG...it’s fucking inspiring watching someone lose themselves to something so fully.
Sucks that someone so talented could get bummed out by stuff like that, but he's only human. Its funny because I was just thinking the other day about how great Anthony's vocals still are. The Used, when I was 13, were my favourite band, and seeing Bert recently really sucked, because he's ruined his voice so much. But Anthony, despite everything, has managed to keep his voice sounding great.
Anthony's vocals are incredible, who is hating? Also, listened to this on the way to work again this morning. Might just be tied with Descensus for #1. Descensus has higher highs (Nesting Dolls, Only The Sun, Sovereign Circles, & Descensus are some of their finest songs), but this one is more consistent start to finish.
