I liked what I listen to of this but man I just wish it was on streaming.

have not stopped listening to this, and now i have tickets for the brooklyn show

Finally got round to giving this spin (pushed by it's appearances on multiple AOTY lists) and yeah, the hype is valid. Great fucking record.

 

album of the year for Pitchfork. very cool and deserved.

 

This is very good. Their album about Karen Carpenter is also sick. I knew about Preoccupations, but not Women or Cindy Lee.

 

Public Strain by Women is an all-timer for me. Came out a month before i started college and defines that era of my life so well in my head.

 

Recs that are similar to this album/What's Tonight to Eternity and Youth Lagoon? Should I just check out the other Cindy Lee stuff? Going down a hypnagogic pop rabbithole at work right now. Mostly listening to Dean Blunt and Panda Bear.

1000% Jessica Pratt. Whole discography is unimpeachable.

 

I semi avoided this record because it was kind of a chore for me to listen to but I’ve spent some time with it and yea…..bummed I waited, might be my AOTY with some time.

 

It feels like a reductive take but I’m kind of like this record is like if Whitney was the greatest band in the world….because that really just means I was unfamiliar with Cindy Lee.
