I really enjoy it, agree about some lyrics, but sonically it's great for the summer evenings right now.

 

Three songs in, and I'm really digging this so far.

 

i liked the first two songs and then all the other songs just sounded like more boring versions of the those songs

 

This is still a go-to for night drives

 

I'm a few songs in and really enjoying this, even though I hate the band name haha. Also those lyrics I just saw quoted on the first page of the thread are super yikes, we'll see how I feel about that song

 

The song itself is solid

 

I love the band name but cringe at some lyrics still. Still really enjoy the album though.

The way Greg delivers his lyrics reminds me of Lana Del Ray sometimes.

Anyone else hear this, or hear it now that I say it?

 

Finally getting around to giving this a listen...it's the perfect soundtrack for lazy days on the couch or in bed.

I haven't listened to it in a while. I think the closer was the only song that had bad enough lyrics to make me cringe, but I still thought it was great musically.

 

I just don't listen to Young & Dumb. Turning it off before that makes it a really good album.

 

Same here. Young & Dumb would be a great song, too, with different lyrics.

Honestly, that song alone has prevented me from recommending this album to some friends.

 

It's weird how genres/artists can affect my tolerance for something like shitty lyrics. I'm torn between loving the sound of this album but also not being able to help but feel a little slimy about it all, not just "Young and Dumb" (though that is the worst offender). I wouldn't criticize anyone else for loving this, I've been going back to it semi-regularly just to try and sort my feelings on it, but I do know the kind of dudes who would write shit like this in high school and it's just not a crowd I like to romanticize. But then again, I can turn around and listen to a Mark Kozelek record just like that, so I guess it's more of a personal thing. Weird how that works.

 

I’m about to see this band live for the first time. Pretty excited.

I really enjoyed the show! One of the more chill shows I have been to. Only downside was a lot of the crowd talking throughout the set. They are playing Chicago again tomorrow night, and I wish I could go for round two.

show sucked because as @Daniel182 said, people just can't shut up at shows and it just becomes a boring drag because goodbye atmosphere and this band relies on that a whole fucking lot - definitely a bedroom cuddled in bed with your lover experience, not a live show experience - also the whole "look at us, we're playing live in front of a packed room but we are sooooo bored" shtick is annoying

visuals are kind a cool but after the third still image of a girl crying I was annoyed

they sound perfect live tho
