new song reminds me of perfume. a good thing

 

i was not the biggest fan of the last record and this feels really inspired to me in comparison, idk

 

I like the last record and don’t care much for this. It isn’t bad by any means but it feels kinda bland

 

I don't think this is bad, I enjoyed it while it was on, but it just didn't leave much of an impression.

 

One of the best songs of the album surely?

 

I like the new track - it’s nice enough. Unfortunately I just don’t think this band is ever going to reach the heights I thought they were destined to achieve coming out of the BBC Sound of 2013 awards. They’ve got a genre defining album in them somewhere.

 

Not even sure I like this band but I'm quite enjoying the new song to be honest. Chorus hook is sticking, there's a slightly trippy thing where they kind of trick you where the chorus actually starts as well, which I dig. Lauren sounds good.

 

Lmao I put this on last night in the car and my wife basically snapped at me for ruining her mood. Apparently Lauren’s pitch isn’t for her.

 

Enjoyed the new song, but would have loved them to carry on with the 'Death Stranding' sound

 

I’m with you on this! What I would have identified as a prechorus is almost more the chorus and the chorus is more like a “tag”. Interesting structure on this one for sure, I really enjoy that aspect.

I can't believe Lauren is in a relationship with Justin Long. That's the most random pairing ever. Every time I hear Chvrches all I can see is his face

 

You forgot Now Is Not the Time off of their Recover EP, one of their very best songs imo

New song is such a tune... hits harder for me than anything from the last album.

 

you're totally right, the effects and visuals are very throwback. Lauren's hair and makeup very much adds to the vibes as well

I’ll be totally honest and say a Chvrches show is what I’m absolutely craving coming out of the pandemic. I want synthpop and lots of lights with drops.
