Not to sound controversial or anything, but I think it's a very good thing they are releasing new music.
Ready. SV was my favorite of theirs. Reminds me I need a good copy of Screen Violence on vinyl. Eye balling a 180g blue one now.......
Holy shit, I didn't see this until today. I'm fucking ready. Screen Violence is still a regular listen for me.
I'm still mad I didn't see them in the Screen Violence cycle. The videos from that tour looked so fun
I saw them twice on the cycle. The first time was in a 100 capacity room at the Hollywood Cemetery and I was on the rail. Insane show
The best thing about that tour cycle was that Lauren's costume changes meant we had to get Final Girl on the setlist every night.
I didn't love Love Is Dead prior to Screen Violence. But as has happened with a few other bands I like, a fantastic album can re-shape my opinion of a weaker earlier album. SV showed that LID was a little period for the band that didn't determine their future, and I find the album a lot more fun now without that "worry".
Love is Dead rules. I know this is an incredibly uncommon CHVRCHES opinion, but every album from this band has made me more of a fan than the one before.
There’s a lyric on the new Paramore album that I wonder if it’s an intentional SV nod or just a coincidence. “I’m in a horror movie where I’m both the killer and the final girl”
I did think Hayley could have SV on her mind, even subconsciously, given her love of and connections to the band.
What I do agree with is that I think SV got them back in their groove of them being very much a theatric, all-encompassing act. The whole horror movie vibe of SV was great. Also their transition from an electronic band to a rock band has been so much fun to be a part of.
