I was never super into them before this album but this album is a big step-up from their previous work, imo. Great pop album. I really hope they stay on this current path they're on, challenging themselves and continuing to try different things. I keep coming back to this album every few weeks.
Gotta say, the full band approach, with the drummer added a lot to the overall presence of the group. Really loved that.
Really good performance last night in San Diego. She mentioned she used to date someone that worked there and had spent tons of time in SD. The bass in “How to Drown” was amazing. Probably ruined the studio version for me.
Same with me. I just checked this out today and really liked it. I’d listened to their older albums and they hadn’t really clicked with me besides a few songs but was pleasantly surprised with this. The first half is definitely my favorite
Revisiting this album for the first time since around the time of its release and I still love this a lot. I’m so glad they went into a darker, more melancholy sound with much of this because I’ve always thought that was their best sound on previous albums.
This album still slots into my regular rotation. All of their stuff does. Easily one of my favorite bands. I’m assuming it’s the festival leg of their rotation so we’ll get them at Lolla. Hopefully we get an aftershow.
I hope they play in Philly later this year before the end of the this album cycle. They only came here once so far this cycle back in December, but I missed them and I’ve only seen this band once way back in 2014. I’d love to see not just these songs but songs from Every Open Eye as well
I didn't know it at the time but the Chicago date of the tour in November was my last show of 2021. Ended up with Covid and couldn't go to Beach Bunny. I'm not mad at this being how I closed out the year as it was the one show I needed the most.
