I listened to this band's entire discog twice at work today, and I'm happy to report it all kinda slaps. really just great stuff all round that being said this era just feels special to me. it's both recency bias and it being my introduction to them but still. the songcraft, lyrics and aesthetic of everything to do with SV just does it for me
CHVRCHES Setlist at White Oak Music Hall, Houston Tour started last night. V upset it’s not coming remotely close to me.
Shaky knees just announced their lineup for next year and they’re going to be there so I guess I’m going to be there too.
I’m beyond excited for the show. I wish I was going to Milwaukee, too. Regardless, I’m going to lose my shit. This is the one show I’ve been needing.
I just mean, If it’s not a false positive, how easily it can spread to more members / also How can iain even get across the border now etc.
ive seen several bands only have one member test positive while on tour this fall. also seen a handful where the whole band got hit.
Ugh that was so good setlist notes violent delights slaps hard live with the drummer! no Martin song, gotta get under the tide back in there. Also nightmares. Also maybe never ending circles.
I listened to the singles a lot when they dropped but for whatever reason decided to hold off for a bit before diving fully into the album. Subconsciously waiting 'til it got cold, maybe? Regardless, having listened a bunch in the lead up to the concert and afterwards, I can confidently say it's my favorite CHVRCHES album and 2021 AOTY. Just absolutely the perfect album for me right now. Whole thing rules, though that "How Not to Drown"/"Final Girl"/"Good Girls" stretch especially hits so fucking hard. Also, wearing my "we did it out of love" crewneck today, which is I think my new favorite sweatshirt.
Well, I also really dug it as a single, so I don’t completely relate, lol. The context does elevate it a ton, though.
