This album rules, it’s really good for blasting while you’re cleaning your house with all the windows open on a perfect sunny day like today
I agree that the highs don't hit the highs of the 1st two albums but I think this is the most consistent record they have. When I revisit the first two albums I generally only listen to a handful of songs, but this one I am just tempted to keep playing it all the way through. We will see how it settles, I guess, but for now my impressions have been that this is their strongest album front-to-back.
I'll say it: this is my favorite album this year so far. Probably my fav Chvrches album as well. My first listen I thought the back half of the album was a bit weak, but that's changed now. Gun to my head I could not name my least favorite song on this right now.
totally my favorite album of the year and have had a few profound personal realizations because of it already
This is just soooooo darn good. I've spent quite a good deal of time with it since yesterday and I think it is clearly their best effort.
I don't really know how to talk about musical sounds in text but the beginning of He Said She Said with the de do do, de do do, de do do, de do do BOODA LUH LUHH BOODALOooooooo is honestly an iconic musical riff that just feels so perfect and is instantly memorable
My brain hears a “Man Overboard”-like (the song) bass moment in “California” and I hum the melody each time.
Right there with you. It’s done a lot for my gender dysphoria tbh final girl is the best song of the year
I get why they don’t but I wish they would play a different set of songs for these things.. edit: didn’t realize these were acoustic haha. That’s actually a nice change of pace.
Each listen is really solidifying this as something special to me. Violent Delights through Final Girl hits haaaaard.
