I loved it. Yet another queer vison from Mancini. Still can’t get over Sawa was both the dad and the uncle.
Really enjoying this show, and it’s cementing my opinion that Chucky is my favorite of the major franchise killers. Chucky casually bringing up Glen/Glenda as a way to connect with Jake was a really nice moment.
I hope the kills get going a bit more. These Slasher shows always do the "one kill a week" thing and I just want more lol
The Tiffany/Nica scene is what I was hoping this show would really be! I’m really enjoying the show overall, but man I want some more continuation from the last couple films
Oddly enough, I feel the other way. Though, I've never seen Bride or Seed. I watched Cult, and thought that was a lot of fun without all of the context. I was hoping this was a standalone without the mythos. I feel like it is unfair to younger folks who don't really know the source material.
I think I mean more so that it has presented itself as stand alone for four episodes. It built a new mythology, while sprinkling in some of the stuff that happened before. You watch episode 5 and are like, uhhhhh who the fuck are any of these people? The two seconds of flashbacks doesn't clarify anything. Its just a bizarre way of presenting the show.
I really like that it’s the one series that everything is still in continuity but yeah they needed to do a little more backstory IMO for the normies
I haven't watched the show yet because I'm waiting for all the episodes to come out, so I don't know specifically how things are handled, but I feel the need to point out two things. From what I understand, in the first episode, the person on the phone who warns Jake about Chucky is Andy, so if you know that, then it establishes early on that the show will eventually dive back into the series proper. Also, if you followed the making of this show, then it was a known quantity early on that all the usual suspects were going to be in this show at some point. It was never intended to be standalone. Not saying things couldn't have been made more sensible for newcomers, but I just wanted to put those points out there.
Apparently the last two episodes have done much bigger numbers than the first handful. Guess people just wanted that lore.
Didn't know there was a thread for this. LOVING this show. Can't wait to see what they do for the season finale tonight
Loved the whole season. Kinda want it to be a new town or something. I like the cast, but I don't know that there is much more story to tell.
