Chorus.fm's Top 25 Horror Films (As of 2024) Movie

Discussion in 'Entertainment Forum' started by Aaron Mook, Apr 5, 2024.

  1. Well, I proposed this a while ago, but now that we have a fun Top 25 Films thread going, and because we have such an active and passionate horror thread on the site, I figured it was probably time to fire up a Top 25 Horror Films thread. I plan on tabulating a Top 25 for the website based on lists posted in here, so let's set a deadline of Saturday, April 20th. Until then (and after), share your lists and discuss! Mine:

    A couple caveats:
    1. I hate trying to split hairs on genre, so I just picked my favorites that are listed as horror on LB.
    2. I'm definitely going to overrepresent my penchant for horror-comedy.
    3. Did it with a bias sorter in one pass. Not pulling my hair out.
    4. I've seen a lot of movies and try to keep a good genre balance, but I don't specialize in horror like a lot of guys on here, so apologies if you think this list is junk.

    1. The Shining (Stanley Kubrick, 1980)
    2. Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (Charles Barton, 1948)
    3. The Fog (John Carpenter, 1980)
    4. Jaws (Steven Spielberg, 1975)
    5. Alien (Ridley Scott, 1979)

    Just missed:
Eight Legged Freaks (Ellory Elkayem, 2002)
