Goddam it’s such a ripoff of Halloween and it literally has the most average looking normal white guy killer but it’s still fun. I forget how the sequel ties in but I remember it being such a loose stretch
Not among my favorite slashers, but Slumber Party Massacre is still a fun time and one of it's biggest strengths is definitely the short runtime. I wish more slashers were paced this way. Also rules that it's an 80s horror film directed by a woman.
I mean I can think of others if a majority of y’all have already seen it but if you’re all fine with that pick then cool
Wait maybe I actually have seen Carnival of Souls! Yeah okay I definitely had this on in the last couple years but didn’t really pay attention to it. Time to rectify that.
Finally catching up and watching The Poltergeist II before moving onto III. A little slight for sure, but fun!
Just finished up Carnival of Souls this morning. Loved it! Jacob’s Ladder was definitely inspired by it right?
I've got the next three days off into the weekend, excited to do Gonjiam and revisit Carnival of Souls :)
Back around to the top for tomorrow. Looking forward to these picks weekly now that I am all caught up.
This time around, I'm going with a film I've never seen that's been on my list for ages: 1992's French horror-adjacent serial killer satire and early mockumentary Man Bites Dog! Currently streaming on Max! From Wikipedia: "The film follows a crew of filmmakers following a serial killer, recording his horrific crimes for a documentary they are producing. At first dispassionate observers, they find themselves increasingly caught up in the chaotic and nihilistic violence, eventually becoming accomplices...Since its release, the picture has become a cult film, and received a rare NC-17 rating for its theatrical release in the U.S."
