Yeah, a “requel” could be incredible imo, especially now that general audiences are more knowledgeable about wormholes and the scientific concepts Wier was explaining to the crew. So there’s a lot of material to be mined there imo. Also, was this in 3D when it first released? The CGI had that strange “move it to the camera” motion that made it seem that was. A simple improvement would have been to have the floating stuff be a little further away lol
Also, is there any evidence Dead Space was inspired by this? The tone and sets seem veryyyyy similar edit: yep, apparently this was a huge influence on the game - really cool!
Haven't read it yet, but Event Horizon supposedly has a big influence on Nick Cutter's novel The Deep, only that it takes place in the ocean. Gonna try to get to it this summer
Just finished my rewatch. Still rules, enjoyed it even more this time. The Hellraiser influence never came to mind during my first watch, but now it's so apparent. Don't know how that didn't connect for me before haha. And yeah the CGI is pretty awful but it has that 90s charm to it
Subbing, I’ll try to start soon, but work and life shit is crazy at the moment — really wanna partake though.
Alright, you all should have never given me this power. My pick is the 1974 made-for-TV movie turned cult-classic Bad Ronald. Predating Black Christmas and influencing The People Under the Stairs, Bad Ronald is the OG someone’s living in the walls movie and comes in at a brisk 74 minutes. I believe it’s for rent on Prime, but it’s also on my Plex which I think most of you have access to, and if not I will gladly share. I can also send it to you directly if neither of those are options.
I still haven’t watched any of these picks because I don’t have the right streaming services but I’m gonna catch up
Thought Bad Ronald was pretty good. Kinda wish more happened but I can't really complain with the shorter runtime. Loved Ronald Kool-Aid Maning through the wall lol
I invited you a long time ago but not sure if you ever used it. Send me your email, or again I can send the file directly.
