I respect Blood Beat for not even trying to make sense or explain anything. Just vibes.

I liked a decent amount of The Devil's Bath. Not entirely for me though. I struggle getting into some historical stuff and felt that it was pretty slow moving. The lead was excellent

  3. I saw you give it 1.5 stars on Letterboxd and was like "oh no," lmao

Haha I try to rate from more of a technical perspective but I still love the trash and garbage. I honestly really enjoyed watching Blood Beat for all of the batshit reasons you mentioned in your initial post. I just have a hard time giving an actual "good" score to stuff like this. Which brings about inner conflict because of how much I love the zany b movie genre. All that to say, it was a great pick haha

  5. I'm just glad you got something out of it! I honestly didn't know what to think when I first saw it, but I couldn't stop thinking about it, and now it's become an annual rewatch for me.

I believe it’s back to me? If so, I’d like to put forth Pilgrim as my pick. Really wanted to do Blood Rage but it isn’t steaming anywhere. Pilgrim is on Hulu!

For any interested, I did find out that Blood Rage aka Slasher is free on Youtube. Highly recommended this week with Thanksgiving approaching!

Edit: Okay unfortunately I am now learning that this youtube stream edits out almost every single kill haha lame

Pilgrim is still a fun time. Perfect length for it. One of the few Into the Dark movies worth watching imo lol. It just annoys me that Ethan's death is off screen because he so deserved an on screen death!

Blood Rage was awesome. Loved the gore and the bad overacting. Gets unexpectedly dark at the end. I need a ''It's not cranberry sauce'' shirt

  17. Yeah Pilgrim is still really fun, it did a good job if filling a void until Thanksgiving (the movie) existed and I agree that it's a rare Into the Dark win lol

I'll go with Await Further Instructions. Scifi/horror set on or around Christmas. It will also be a first watch for me!

It's on Tubi, Prime, and Plex

  21. I had OPINIONS on this one in my Letterboxd review, so revisiting it should be interesting, lol.

I didn't care for this lol

I'm all for shit getting weird but the ending just doesn't match the tone that 90% of the film had

  24. Yeah, I still appreciate this one going bonkers but it really just doesn't pull it off. Still feels like a bad Black Mirror episode to me. Fun enough, not mad I watched it, but not good!

I’m picking Night of the Comet, free on Pluto: Pluto TV: Watch Free Movies, TV Shows & Live TV Online

it’s a weird one totally, but also part of the inspiration for Buffy the Vampire Slayer which was some interesting trivia. I had a fun time watching earlier this week and thought it’d be perfect for one of these.

it’s also from the director of RATZ, one of my favorite not yet cult classics.
