The Blue Nile - A Walk Across the Rooftops Hats is the “classic” but on some days I prefer their debut.
Just want to say thanks to everyone for the good conversation on the last pick. It could have been pretty easy to just say “this sucks” and move on but I feel like everyone had more insightful criticisms and it led to a good conversation on nostalgia and music.
I’ve never listened to The Blue Nile, this album is great. The production is insane. I particularly love the title track. kind of get Wild Beasts vibes from it, a band I haven’t even thought of in years.
I'm glad you picked it! It really shook things up! I keep thinking someone in the film club thread should pick some trash, but I wasn't ready to get dragged for it, lol.
sitting down to this now. shocked that I’ve never heard of this band. it’s right up my alley. great stuff
so I’m listening to the 14 track deluxe and it seems like I’m nearing the end of the original album. is it imperative for me to listen to all 14 or nah?
This Blue Nile album is really good. Tinseltown in the Rain and Easter Parade were my favorite tracks. Really doesn’t feel like it came out in the 80s. Production has a more modern feel to it. Unless the Spotify one is remastered lol
Their later releases (and Buchanan’s solo effort) are also very good, I just don’t think theyre as good as the first two.
Woke up having an anxiety attack this morning, so I listened to Ambient 1 on the way to work. Only album that seems to help me come down (and specifically "1/1").
