Ooh excited for this. Liked and very much respected Diamond Jubilee but it didnt click with me as much as it clearly did for others. Excited to hear a different direction
I dug this. I feel like my criticism is the same as it was for Diamond Jubilee, the schtick wears a bit thin after a few songs. This is at least shorter. Kinda washed over me but I enjoyed it.
It's weird and a vibe record for sure. I think what I appreciate is that there is depth to engage with considering its subject matter and experimental sound, but you can also definitely just take it in as a vibe-piece.
I really liked 5 songs on this Cindy Lee album. The others were fine, but these 5 really held my interest. I enjoy the weirdness. I still haven't listened to Diamond Jubliee because it's fucking two hours long but I'll try getting to it sometime soon lol
I’ve only gotten through some of Diamond Jubilee bc of its length and relative inaccessibility, and I enjoyed it but I think I like this more. I dig the darkness and the noise influence.
I weirdly think Diamond Jubilee is very accessible, especially compared to this, and perfect to throw on in the background at work lol
Just listened. There were some very cool parts but also It hurt my ears and I wont be going back. Might check out Jubilee
This was great. Really dig the production, how it’s both dreamy and harsh. Excited to check out Diamond Jubilee later
Maybe I'm not in the right headspace for it, but I'm having a tough time locking into the Cindy Lee record. Elements of "Lucifer Stand" and "Heavy Metal" stood out to me though, and that big noisy explosion in the middle of "I Want You To Suffer" is a really cool piece of sound design.
can't believe aaron is choosing his child over us I listened to some of Diamond Jubilee today and didn't love it and ended up bailing on it. Definitely prefer the vibe of What's Tonight to Eternity way more
Relistening to the Cindy Lee. Fantastic album. I always respect when an artist proves they can create these great pop songs if you strip everything away, but instead they choose to utterly drench their songs in their own brand of “weird” there’s something about this that reminds me of Unknown Mortal Orchestra too but way noisier of course
