Army of Me EP was definitely an easy listen. Kinda reminds me of Augustana at times. Also I can't help but feel like I saw them open for someone a long time ago lol
Yeah, this is really pleasant. The name sounded really familiar so I was expecting to get hit with nostalgia but I definitely haven’t heard this before. Solid pick
I pulled up their Wikipedia page because I remember them opening for a very wide range of bands. I was not wrong! The Used, The Almost, The Bled, Envy on the Coast, Emery, Mae, Blue October, Switchfoot, The Damnwells, OAR, Dave Matthews Band
Loved the last two picks. Still can’t get those bass tones from Blue Nile or Smokey Robinson’s angelic voice out of my head. Looking forward to this next one.
"Love Song" was my favorite for a long time, but "Lost at Sea" is really hitting lately. Definitely the highlight for me right now as well.
Hope, I've seen her body I've weighed her on a scale She lives and breathes, makes conquest of me And I've never seen her fail
I mostly know Army of Me from a Doghouse Records sampler CD that I listened to a bunch as a teenager. This EP is a huge departure from those pop punk songs, and I really like it. His voice has a bit of Bob Dylan in it at times, and there's always a little more going on in the production to make it not just an acoustic EP. The organ parts in "Lost At Sea" are especially cool.
My selection is 2019’s New Hell by the band Greet Death. Similar in vibe to the shoegaze/new grunge stuff going on but with some added folk/americana. Super depressing lyrics. It’s been in regular rotation since it came out and it really hit hard during the pandemic. Highlights for me are Circles of Hell, You’re Gonna Hate What You’ve Done, and the title track.
just finished the album. I found it to be a very worthwhile experience and can see myself returning to it again in the future. the homie wasn’t lying about depressing lyrics either. there’s some pretty fucking dark themes throughout. it’ll be nice to throw it on when in a gloomy mood.
My motherfuckin' man. Hell yeah. Amazing record. "Entertainment" is The One. We love Hum-worship and we love trans artists
