Enjoy this genre, though it’s admittedly more something I get deep into during the winter. But you mentioned it as a summer album so I’m def hyped to check this out later.
Reverie is a good one too. I didn't (re) listen to this one yet, but I feel like I really love "All That We Had Is Lost"
I enjoyed my first impression of this. Idk if anyone has heard of them, but it gives me Mint Julep vibes with more of a pop edge (at least in some songs). The closer was very dope in particular. Will give it another closer listen tomorrow!
This one is my fav by them so far. They’re actually a married couple - Keith is behind the ambient projects Helios and Goldmund, and Hollie has her own ambient project with her own name.
I liked this! "Help" especially I thought was a really great song. Gonna listen again and try to consider if there's something about dream pop that I don't fuck with that makes it "not for me" or if its just a matter of not having listened to Beach House enough during my the time when my brain was forming tastes. Because like on this I hear a ton of great craft but it just doesn't stick with me like the equivalent would in my favorite styles yknow
This is a fun album. Breezes by quick while hitting a range of the classic dreampop sound - some bangers, some moodier tracks, some more interesting musically than others. A bit of it meshes together but it didn’t detract from my listen, and not something that really bothers me with this genre. I really enjoy everything from On the Run to Supreme, then Atlantis which is a great closer. Not all of it sticks for me but those tracks do. I’ll be sure to check out their other stuff for sure.
I came really close to choosing a Beach House album but felt that they were too popular for this. Idk lol I think Atlantis might be one of my favorite closers of all time. Reverie is their only other album. They have a few non album tracks too. I'd love some new material
I kid but there have been some pretty obscure choices of late. reconfiguring my future choices based on that alone
Hah, I had them on my mind because I found out they're my friend's partner's favorite band of all time. Might check out Bloom again after this
I like a mix of mainstream and obscure. You could also argue some of the choices are mainstream choices in otherwise obscure genres (Music for Airports). I feel like it doesn’t matter as long as you think it’ll reach new people by posting here.
