how did this league feel like it took less than a month but this week feel like a decade

 

I thought about it. But I’d keep be about the same as Toxapex. Both might end up getting bumped up through depending on what kind of curve we need to set.

 

And now I see you have them both 5s. Ha.

 

haha yeah i was just about to say that. they're both hard to deal with even after Knock Off, cannot be poisoned, don't care much about hazards - Ferrothorn can hit back hard so unless you can finish it off quickly you probably would want to switch out, and Toxapex just doesn't die.

 

Exactly how I felt, and yeah we'll probably need to bump up multiple Pokemon

But also if we have 4.1-5 = S we'll probably have a lot of Pokemon with only 1 5 end up as S's

 

I think not having only 1 set Pokemon that can dynamax is going to open up the ability to KO Ferrothorn and Toxapex much more effectively, and break through those walls, whereas where we were this season it was much more difficult to navigate around them

 

what are the dynamax rules we're leaning towards?

 

I think we're leaning towards no gmax, any pokemon on your team can dmax (do not have to designate 1 for dmax and don't have to do the same one each match)

 

Max knuckle increasing attack definitely hurts ferrothorn

 

in showdown is there a way to dynamax instead of gmax? hatterene for example

 

Yes when you're building your team there will be two hatterene's listed, one Gmax, one regular

 

Yeah. The Dynamax button should pop up with your attacks in battle

 

nice. that’s definitely going to make games more swingy. more fun to watch

 

most pokemon that can gmax are actually better dmaxed too

 

I like the Dmax, not Gmax rule and not having to specify which they're going to do.

 

dmaxing any pokemon definitely makes the games a lot less predictable

my Braviary switch-out was an accident and I didn’t cancel it in time... but I’m glad I didn’t lose because of it.

 

Wtf is D vs G max

 

You can dynamax pretty much every Pokémon in Sword/Shield, and each move type has a specific Max move associated with it. For example a fire move becomes Max Flare for a dynamaxed pokemon or a water move becomes Max Geyser.

But then there are certain Pokémon than can gigantamax, which means rather than just getting bigger, they also change form and then have a Gmax move that is specific to them. An example would be your Gmax Lapras. When you gigantamax it, any ice move it has becomes Gmax Resonance. So say for an example you had Freeze-Dry. If you Gigantamaxed your Lapras, the move would be come Gmax Resonance. But if a regular Lapras or any other Pokémon had Freeze-Dry, it would become Max-Hailstorm if you dynamaxed them.
