it definitely has downsides too, esp vs a team that can just generate momentum and close games quickly. i can write about it all day. it also makes watching games less fun, because you don't care about showmanship and just try to be as objective as possible. so if i ever got matched with anyone and it looked like i was just spamming Toxic and Protect and Recover when I could've just used an offensive move to go for the kill, I am truly sorry. it's not to annoy you, it's just a habit
Nah I get it, when I was battling @CarpetElf for his match vs Orca the other day Laura was watching and she was like "Dustin you're so annoying" hahaha
I almost didn't talk to you for six days after you Wish/Protected Sylveon into oblivion while I was training for @Shrek And then he didn't even bring it and I legitimately lost my shit and then very abruptly lost my match with him hahahaha long con
Also if it makes you feel any better so much of my prep vs @Shrek was for Bronzong and then it didn't come against me
Now that my season is over, I present: Favorite Match: Against @morgantayler Against the Timburrs: Loss Against the Manhatterenes (@Jake W): Loss Against the Heatmor (@morgantayler): Win Against the Duskulls (@thenewmatthewperry): Win Against the Luxrays (@DerekIsAGooner): Loss Against the Flygons (@Laura): Win Against the Slobros (@Shrek): Loss Against the Starmie (@Fucking Dustin): Loss aka My Shiny Girls Against the Magikarp (@CarpetElf): Win aka My Shiny Boys
I have won my match against @Laura cc @JRShoenberger [Gen 8] Ubers replay: fkgdustin vs. Laurahatesdogs - Pokémon Showdown
My team vs @Laura I brought Safety Goggles on Hatterene in preparation for Butterfree to use Sleep Powder so that I could still get a Nuzzle off on it. Aromatherapy was there to heal wounds on the rest of the party, which ended up freeing my Grimmsnarl up late in the match (too late, really). I brought Toxic Spikes on Drapion but didn't know Laura would be bringing it on her own Toxapex, which resulted on a lone Toxic Spike deflecting off Hatterene onto her side of the field, leaving standard poison rather than toxic on many of her Pokemon. HARLEY JARVIS aka Galarian Mr. Mime finally made its debut to set screens and got the final KO of the match with Freeze-Dry. In the future I'd probably run clay over Eviolite as there was really no reason to add bulk in that way. There was nothing on Laura's team that was threatened with Scald or Water Spout any more than Hex, so I added on Acid Armor (also after watching Aaron Zheng's WBE match where he ran Acid Armor Jellicent) to help it wall physical threats like Kommo-o and survive Thunder Punches enough to sap or Hex.
I have defeated @CarpetElf as Orca [Gen 8] Ubers replay: fkgdustin vs. CarpetElf - Pokémon Showdown I officially finish the season 7-3
My team vs @CarpetElf as Orca I could write up about this but honestly I don't remember why anything is on this team because I made it 3 weeks ago which was an entire pandemic ago
