[Gen 8] Ubers replay: fkgdustin vs. Soho Slowbros - Pokémon Showdown Victory! Great game @Shrek @JRShoenberger
in that dracovish vs jellicent pairing, why did you switch out to drapion when you had it all under control? it felt risky, but it played out well in the end
Dracovish is definitely not unbeatable, and I say this as someone who uses it on their doubles team lol
My team vs @Shrek : The big threat on this team to me, more than Dracovish, was Sylveon. I needed a way to chip at Sylveon and wave it. I did not succeed at this, but the chip damage I was able to put on it was enough to scout out what Sylveon could and couldn't do, and go for the kill with Drapion when the time came. I was sure to keep Drapion alive as long as possible for this task, but Jellicent was a backup that could eat hits and do damage back. I wanted to wave Dracovish as well, hence bringing Hatterene and Gothitelle. Again, I failed at this, but the burn proved useful as well. Grimmsnarl was able to mitigate crucial damage and even though he did nothing while gigantimaxed, his role along with Gothitelle's and Hatterene's was essential. Gothitelle as a trapper was able to find other ways to help the team, such as paralyzing Toxicroak and opening up the possibility of Drapion bringing it extremely low in health. Dracozolt was the designated sweeper, able to KO almost everything on the team as long as it had help in the speed department. Once Sylveon was down and Corviknight and Toxicroak were paralyzed, I knew the game was won. I ran Assault Vest + Volt Absorb over a more powerful Hustle option knowing the damage would be enough without having to sacrifice accuracy.
Gotcha, in that situation I thought with a burn and Dracovish's attack lowered to 0.5x, like you said I had it completely under control. As a result, I thought @Shrek wouldn't keep him in and was trying to call a switch to Shiftry who still very much threatened my Jellicent.
ah it's Shiftry. i was trying to figure out which pokemon you didn't want to pair Jellicent against. dustin pulling some jedi mind tricks
when i'm making teams, all i can think of is how much I want X pokemon on my team and wish I had drafted it i kinda like my team still
It's gonna take some work to figure out the tiering but we'll be working on finding a good setup for it
See the problem with Dracovish isn't that no one can beat it, the problem is I drafted 99% of the Dracovish counters
I did a version of what I should've done for my team, looking at how everything was drafted, just for fun
Everyone share the Pokemon that are haunting you that you should've drafted Mine are Rotom-Heat, Togedemaru, Runerigus, and Mudsdale (Also I should've gotten gmax Hatterene + regular Grimmsnarl instead of gmax Grimmsnarl + regular Hatterene)
Sorry for posting way too many times but I'm hyped up and bored I built a Galarian Mr Mime build to use against Cam too but it felt too risky to bring given how badly it does against his entire team outside of Dracovish/Pelipper That's probably my worst pick of the draft, I cannot for the life of me find a good way to use him on a team that already has Grimmsnarl for setting screens
I feel like every team I've faced can easily counter it, I've run tons of tests against created dummy teams and all of them destroy it so easily
