I just got done watching the replay of the final match. What a performance from @zigbigwig and @Jake W.

Congrats to Zig on going undefeated, and thanks to everyone in the draft league for making this so much fun. I'm super excited to start season 2.

Rotom-H i adore you even if you did choke during the finals. Tyranitar the best didn’t let me down

EDIT: This is also the first time I played around with damage calculator this seriously. Prob never doing it again

 

Part of why I used Avalugg was because I hadn't used him yet, thought it would throw you off lol

if i didn't flip the switch and remained reactive i def would've lost to that.

the thing that messed with my head was Galvantula. a sticky web before that Obstagoon vs Ttar MU would've turned that game around

 

I didn't run sticky Web on galvantula, didn't think T-Tar would be scarfed, so didn't think I'd need it. Went with giga drain instead because I was expecting to see quagsire lol

 

you had a lot of grass coverage (copper, gyarados even has power whip) and Quagsire is fairly easy to deal with (esp with Vaporeon on my team) so I knew I couldn’t bring it to this match.

I was hoping you didn’t expect Scarfed Ttar but it was too good to pass up on. Slow Ttar wouldnt have done anything here I think. Since my team was really defensive I knew I had to use the Choice items to give them that extra boost in damage and speed.

Overheat Rotom-H OHKOs gmax copperajah which is crazy (i didnt want to deal with steelsurge, that t1 miss was really huge and def not ideal). i expected stone edge but i was glad to not see it

 

I prepared for Quagsire before my semifinal match against Zig and he didn't use it then either.

 

Thanks everyone for participating! This has been one of the highlights of the last month.

 

im glad this got taken seriously (i mean not that serious, but serious enough) and everyone was just so into it. normally people flake out and it drags on because matches never finish. really proud of the players in this league esp the new players who were willing to try this out

this is a fun mental exercise and a nice break from work

 

We need to do another now so I can beat Zig

 

Excited to get in on this. It’s been a while since I’ve played, but it seems like it’ll be a blast

Notes:
- Ferrothorn and Tyranitar were in every match, very solid core
- wasn't able to get that much mileage out of Hatterene unfortunately
- don't recommend Oranguru, at all. Bad

My biggest advantage imo was having a really good combination of cores to play around with, so it didn't feel limiting in terms of teambuilding:
- Rotom, Ferrothorn, Ttar + 3 others
- Sableye, Ferrothorn, Ttar + 3 others
- Vaporeon, Ferrothorn, Rotom + 3 others
- Quagsire, Ferrothon + 4 others

 

I'm in for next time! I definitely need to change my team name though (no offense to Philly and Henry)

Since it’ll be a draft league I’d say the most you can do is put together some sort of draft board and rank who you’d want on your team. We’re using our own tier list though, so planning might be tough until we finalize what’s available/banned/etc.

 

i already know what my first 2 picks are and then i’ll wing it from there

 

I know who I wont be drafting.
