Report back! Curious which ones you haven't heard. Just that one song so far, but yeah, they got back together! I'm hoping there's a new album in 2024.
I'm glad I saw this, because I loved the Trousdale EP from earlier this year and didn't realize they'd put out the full album.
Yeah!! They're super fun, I think about half the album is from the EP or singles. My favorite on the album is "If I'm Honest," not sure if you know that one yet
I'm listening to the album now. I first heard of them because one of the trio was a songwriting major Interlochen Arts Academy, a prestigious arts high school up in my neck of the woods in northern Michigan. They came up in an interview I was doing for a news story, and I was blown away when I checked out their stuff. "Bad Blood" is just undeniable.
Strangely enough I heard about them from the Troudbadour (music venue) weekly newsletter. Saw they were playing and an image of them with bright colors so I listened to a song and was immediately into it
Wednesday - Rat Saw God Hotline TNT - Cartwheel Indigo De Souza - All of This Will End Boygenius - The Record Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit - Weathervanes Not sure if it counts but the MJ Lenderman live album is also really high up for me.
Awesome list here, I have many many in common. Since I saw Teenage Wrist rated pretty high here (it’s Top 5 for me I’d say), have you heard the Heavenward album, Pyrophonics? It’s the new project from Kamtin, formerly of Teenage Wrist, and it’s fantastic. Would also put it Top 5-10ish. in fact the two albums almost work as a double album, I’ve been thinking of trying to sequence them as such that it would sound like a Teenage Wrist album with Kamtin and Marshall just alternating lead vocal duties lol.
Hey, yes I am aware of Kamtin’s Heavenward. I only got to it once and unfortunately never returned. I need to spend more time with it. It will probably be one of those albums I enjoy in early 2024. Haha.
probably two of my favorites from this year among the ones I posted in the beginning of the thread. Will finalize my soty list today and hopefully AOTY tomorrow
