the way I see it, it’s very unlikely anything I hear in the next couple weeks would sit long enough to take over anything ive been obsessing over for months

 

It’s weird, there’s multiple albums from people I’m generally very into, which I for some reason didn’t get around to listening to yet. Should try to catch up on a few the next couple weeks, though that last minute approach will probably skew things. Still wanna end up with a solid top 10, just ‘cause.

Also funny that the new Taylor Swift is pretty middle of the road for her imo, definitely outside her top 5… and yet, with how big a Taylor kick I’ve been on, it’s still one of my three most played and likely favorite releases this year!

I dunno, music and one’s relationship to it is just weird and subjective and whatnot, lol.

Pretty fantastic year in music for me. It's the first time in the decade+ I've been doing this that I've been able to make a top 50 because there's been that much music that's really stuck with me. My top 2 in particular have hit me in a way I was worried I might not get again from new music.

Plus I got a new song from my favourite band and I'm still so thrilled at how fantastic it is. One of my biggest wishes for the new year is that they follow it up with a new album.

Post-hardcore specifically with Static Dress, L.S. Dunes and Gatherers had a strong showing. I'm still amazed Armor for sleep came back. The infinite wait for the 2nd No Devotion album was so worth it.

Felt like people were pretty cool on Beatopia, nice to see it make a list! I went back to it recently for the first time in a few months, probably a couple songs that I feel a little less forgiving about than I was in July, but the highs are undeniable

Yeah totally agree it would flow better if a few weaker songs were cut (I hate that tinkerbell song lol), but it's a great album! Sunny Day is up there as one of my favorite songs of the year.
