here's my list from 1-30

 

Decided to try to calculate all of these EOY lists into some sort of consolidated Chorus.FM list of user Top 10's. Thought it would be interesting to see if there is a site consensus into the best albums of the year. I think the results are interesting.

Method:
I used people's top 10. If they listed more, I ignored anything past 10. If they listed less, I just counted the ones that they listed. The values were weighted as follows: Album 1 = 10pts, Album 2 = 9pts, Album 3 = 8 pts, ..., Album 10 = 1pt. This gave a total of 55 points per person. If the person did not have an order for their top 10, each item was given 5.5 pts. Also, if they didn't have an order and included more than 10 items, I just counted the first 10 that they listed. It just made things easier to calculate doing it that way.

At least The 1975 did better in here than on the staff list lol.

 

I personally thought The 1975 was just okay and overshadowed by many superior releases this year. I don’t know if that’s a popular opinion or not though.

 

Well the staff thought so too. The only album I'd put above it is the Charli XCX one. Notes had my two favourite songs of the year on it though.
