It's literally just us in her thread mainly haha but I love her so much. If she ends up releasing another album next year (although all my favorites say they are releasing next year) it will probably be my #1 album or very high up on my list.

 

I’ve discovered some great artists/releases just from these threads over the years.

 

I was absolutely obsessed with that album for a period this year. I can’t imagine it won’t be a celebrated album 20 years from now, especially with how big “Lottery” became.

And live, it’s mad how Jade’s not playing massive tours of her own already. I think she mentioned when I saw her last that Thalia Hall was the biggest room she’s headlined in the U.S., but she played it like a damn stadium

 

I live in Tyler and have seen Rhett Miller here once before. I think he grew up here maybe? Anyway, I hope you enjoyed Stanley’s. The BBQ is great.

Vulfpeck just put out their show at MSG from this year which was my favorite live show in the past decade so that’s added to my list. Do live shows count? Cause now they do

 

She was fantastic at Thalia Hall. Every time I saw her this year was great honestly. Seeing her play the Toyota Music Den at Lolla was sick because I was front row, and seeing her at Schubas was awesome because it was sold out and I was second row. Basically, she’s never disappointed me live!

I'm jealous of those who could confidently put together a ranking of more than 20 albums per year. Like...where do y'all find the time to get so close to these albums?

I'm lucky if I enjoy 10-15 albums per year (and ever since I got Spotify a few years ago, I really try to get into new/different stuff). My problem is, once I find something I enjoy, I'll spend weeks with it and don't care to move on from it.

I actually find it much harder ranking songs than I do albums. For some reason I just find it easier judging a full piece of work than I do working out whether I like this 3 minutes better than that 4 minutes.

 

Oh I totally agree; for me though, when I see so many lists of just albums, it becomes almost overwhelming. If I were to see someone's Top 10 song list, to me that'd be much easier to dive into and really get an idea quickly on why that song is so good, to that person. I'd love to see everyone's top songs lists on here, so I could then quickly search each song and get exposure to so many more amazing new songs I haven't heard before

 

After 2 and a 1/2 hours of seriously trying to whittle down 40-something tracks I picked, listening to various tracks back and forth, over and over again, and put into a list of my Top 10, I've completed it. A lot of good ones left out, but these meant more to me than anything else. The lyrical song craft of "Watermelon" is simply mind blowing
