Mewithoutyou, Deafheaven and the 1975 released my favorite albums, any of them would've been number one last year. That phoebe bridges album from last year finally hit me so I'll give that a shout. Pretty good year imo

Every year without fail I am amazed at how many albums I forget came out that year. (This includes me even having an EOTY Spotify playlist that I add to regularly) 2018 is no different. Definitely not ready to post my list yet.

Idk where it'll end up on my list, but the Emily Brown album from this year is very, very good and reminds me of Kate Bush/Joanna Newsom and (from what I can tell) is completely overlooked

2018 has been a damn good year with lots of great releases. There were so many more I removed because I had to keep this to 20 to save myself some work. 2019 has big shoes to fill that is for sure.

Pretty happy with my list from last year as I still like/love all of them. Just like 2017, I have a few favorites that I loved in 2018 and then a ton of albums that were good but not great.

Disappointments from 2018:

Hippo Campus - Expected something better. I know a lot of people have their new one on their lists, but it's not nearly as fun as Landmark. I still listen to Landmark constantly and I haven't listened to Bambi much at all since it was released.

Hop Along - I've listened to it more lately and it's starting to grow. There's a few songs that are difficult to get through.

Saves the Day - What the fuck is this? Favorite band back in the day and now this hurts my ears.

Tokyo Police Club - Again, a huge fan of most of their stuff, Champ being one of my favorite albums ever. Then there's this where most of it is forgettable other than a few songs, namely Unseen.

The Story So Far - Maybe I'm sick of their sound, but I barely listened to this. No songs stand out as the album bleeds together and then it's over.

 

I did not know Hot Snakes releases an album this year wtf

 

Apparently I need to listen to that Gunna album. People keep mentioning it.
