I always look forward to your lists as a sort of catch-all for things I know I’ll like but haven’t checked out yet. Haha. I like that Sons of Kemet record a lot but didn’t feel like I’d spent enough time with it to include it.
Yeah I listened to it on and off for a while after it came out, then I saw them live and after that I think I listened to that album for like 2 weeks straight haha. I’d recommend checking out that 1000 Kings record also, they are a 3 piece that features the saxophonist/bandleader from Sons of Kemet.

So it's very possible that this list will change a lot come next year.

I hate doing year-end lists this early. I wish they were put out a few months into 2019 so I have time to let everything sink in. Therefore, there's a lot of provisional albums on my list at this time. Tiers are listed in order of total track plays on last.fm, which isn't really a valid way to order them because different albums have different lengths and have been released for different amounts of time during the year, and does not reflect my personal feelings on the albums. Top Tier: Foxing – Nearer My God Hot Mulligan – Deluxe Capacitor Save Face – Merci Now, Now – Saved Coheed and Cambria – The Unheavenly Creatures Bay Faction – Florida Guilt Between the Buried and Me – Automata Tier 2: American Pleasure Club – a whole fucking lifetime of this Dance Gavin Dance – Artificial Selection The Wonder Years – Sister Cities Tiny Moving Parts - Swell The Story So Far – Proper Dose [this listing intentionally left blank] Charmer – Charmer Boston Manor – Welcome to the Neighborhood Silent Planet – When The End Began Vein - Errorzone Tier 3: Fall Out Boy – M A N I A The Dangerous Summer – The Dangerous Summer nothing, nowhere. – Ruiner Senses Fail – If There Is Light, It Will Find You Trophy Eyes – The American Dream Joyce Manor – Million Dollars to Kill Me Camp Cope – How to Socialize & Make Friends Just Friends – Nothing But Love Jeff Rosenstock – POST- Notable Eps/Live Albums: The Pom-Poms – The Pom-Poms EP Steven Wilson – Home Invasion Pusha T – DAYTONA Wicca Phase Springs Eternal – CORINTHIAX oso oso – gb/ol h/nf / subside Field Medic – boy from my dream The Front Bottoms – Ann Knuckle Puck - Shifted boygenius - boygenius Could make the list, but need more time with to confirm staying power: The 1975 – A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships Nervus – Everything Dies Kississippi – Sunset Blush It Looks Sad. – Sky Lake Architects – Holy Hell Illuminati Hotties – Kiss Yr Frenemies Trash Boat – Crown Shyness Twenty One Pilots – Trench American Pleasure Club – tour tape Real Friends – Composure Can’t Swim – This Too Won’t Pass Sidney Gish – No Dogs Allowed (technically December 31st of last year but I’m putting it here) Basement – Beside Myself
