After the Party is my number one but otherwise in no particular order:

The Menzingers - After the Party
    Lorde - Melodrama
Run the Jewels - Run the Jewels 3 (I know, I know. Still counting it)
Manchester Orchestra - A Black Mile to the Surface
Cloud Nothings - Life Without Sound
Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit - The Nashville Sound
Phoebe Bridgers - Stranger in the Alps
Julien Baker - Turn Out the Lights
Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile - Lotta Sea Lice
Japanese Breakfast - Soft Sounds from Another Planet
Queens of the Stone Age - Villains
    Mogwai - Another Country's Sun
Fionn Regan - The Meetings of the Waters
Sorority Noise - You're Not as _____ as You Think
The Front Bottoms - Going Grey
    Citizen - As You Please
    St. Vincent - MASSEDUCTION
    Prawn - Run
    Tigers Jaw - spin
    Turnover - Good Nature
    Slowdive - Slowdive
    Palehound - A Place I'll Always Go

For some reason this year I feel like I listened to more albums than usual but I didn't listen to individual albums as much as I normally would. I finally got Spotify premium this year and my commute shortened so that might have a lot to do with it. Didn't include the Daughter record because it's a soundtrack but I spun that quite a bit. There are also quite a few like Not Even Happiness by Julie Byrne that I just recently got into. Might end up refining this list and ranking later on.

Long list is at about 140 right now of either things that will make it or things I like and want to reassess. I use this time of year less as "look at what I like" and more a chance to reflect and evaluate everything that has made some sort of impact over the past year. Once I add everything I've found or queued up over the past week, I will likely be at just under 200 albums in consideration, the jump shows just how useful looking at the lists of publications and people can be for diversifying my music intake

I've been maintaining a playlist with songs from 2017 that stood out to me or whatever, without repeating artists (exlcuding guest spots). I cut it down to 50. It's probably not exactly the same as a Top 50 favorite tracks list but it's good enough.

Jay Z would be on there but you know, Tidal and shit.

Always so hard for me to say on first listen but maybe "Doin' It Right" or "Colors"?

So damn good. Just listened yesterday. Like if Brian Fallon and The National collaborated to make an Bruce album but also got a bit into modern indie aesthetics.
