Thanks for your list, I looked up all the bands I have never heard of and found a lot that I enjoy. Man I love this time of year! It's great for catching up on missed music.

    1. The Menzingers - After The Party
An obvious choice but I think songs like After The Party and Your Wild Years have soundtracked my year, and seeing them live at 2000 Trees absolutely kill it really solidified my absolute love of this band.
Top tracks - Your Wild Years, After the Party, Lookers

    2. Tigers Jaw - SPIN

Something about this album really connected with me, and if it wasn't for two songs at the end that I find myself skipping a lot, this would be pushing The Menzingers very close. Top notch songwriting and I love the harmonies between Ben and Brianna.
Top Tracks - Window, June, Guardian

    3. Turnover - Good Nature
This band have quickly become a true favourite of mine. Peripheral Vision is one of my favourite albums ever and soundtracked the darkest year or two of my life. Now this album talks about falling in love again and learning to enjoy life over again, and I've definitely slowly learned that this year.
Top Tracks - Bonnie (Rhythm & Melody), Super Natural, Sunshine Type

    4. Deaf Havana - All These Countless Nights
Lyrically, this is absolutely my favourite album this year. It PERFECTLY captures how I felt in the first two or three months this year, after a rough break up, some bad luck job wise, and I was drinking too much and doing drugs and generally feeling very depressed. I turned it around, but this captures so much of that, from the desperation of Trigger, to the defeated alcoholism feeling in Happiness.
Top Tracks - Happiness, L.O.V.E., Trigger

    5. Creeper - Eternity In Your Arms
This band sound like AFI meets Alkaline Trio with a touch of My Chemical Romance, and the album is fantastic. Seen them live a few times and they just really excite me. Good fun, with an interesting image and some catchy choruses.
Top Tracks - Misery, Black Rain, Darling

    Honourable mentions:
    Paramore - After Laughter
Camp Cope - Selftitled (re-release I know but I'm having it)
Sorority Noise - You're Not As ___ As You Think
    Remo Drive - Greatest Hits

The Dead Havana album - I see two versions, deluxe and one where all the tracks are “reworked”. Which one do you recommend?

I finally listened to Guppy by Charly Bliss all the way through for the first time yesterday and it’s definitely getting a spot in my top ten. I tried listening earlier this year and it did nothing for me but wow was I wrong. Glitter might have the chorus of the year (excluding anything from After the Party).

This is the only Scale The Summit record that I didn't immediately latch onto. Maybe I was having a funky week... I need to give it another try.
