Yeah but Haim do it as a Prince/Daft Punk endless groove, where each repetition has subtle dynamic and arrangement shifts. "Honeysuckle" just does the chorus a lot. Haha
Found It in Silence is hands down one of the most grating uses of repetition I’ve ever heard. I loved the sound of it when it started but goddamn am I tired of them saying the title like halfway through it
Also true. But they did the opposite of HAIM. Most of Swift's songs had dope verses with weak choruses.
This is the entire record for me. Every song does this, except for maybe “Nothing’s Wrong” which is hands down my favorite. “Little of Your Love” repeats the same phrase at least 25 times.
My lists are always insanely long (because I try to rank/categorize everything I heard over the year unless it wasn't memorable in any way). One of my favourite sections is records that I really disliked, I always like seeing how people reach to that. Anyways, here are just the records I connected with most. Totally forgot The National, that’s somewhere in the top 10. Have not gone back to Roswell Kid at all, which I’m bummed about
Went back to Rozwell Kid, Sorority Noise, and Emperor X the past couple days and liked all three of them more than I remember
Basically everything outside the top 2 (maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe 3) is potentially interchangeable and I can't be assed to think about this any longer, so as of this exact moment my ranking is as follows: 1. Circa Survive - The Amulet 2. Violents (and Monica Martin) - Awake and Pretty Much Sober 3. Paramore - After Laughter 4. I/O - Anyone, Anywhere 5. Sleepmakeswaves - Made of Breath Only 6. Oh, yeah, got it. IDK new RozKid isn't as good as Too Shabby, even though it has some of their best songs
I wholeheartedly agree with this. RozKid did take a couple of listens to sink in, so I understand why some people might still not be super into it.
I've been thinking for so long that Rozwell Kid was a hardcore band for some reason so I've been put off, seeing a comparison to Charly Bliss means I have to check this out tho.
