Curious if anyone made a top list of Chorus people. I know the prestigious list was already compiled.
Probably this week. Life's been hectic and I wanted to take my time and get it right. Got maybe 5-6 more to place.
Need to catch up to these ones. Adding them to Spotify as we speak. Also it means a whole fucking lot to see our album there, man. So glad you liked it.
This is a fair amount to catch up on. Honestly, I'm unlikely to venture into the bands whose names are characters I wouldn't even know how to enter into spotify. But the rest I'll try to hear. Anything you think I should prioritize or anything you think I can probably skip?
Hey thanks! What have you not heard? I can probably point you in the direction of the stuff you're most likely to enjoy. You'll probably dig at least a few songs from all of those. Of those, I'd probably recommend Ryan Beaver, Jamie Kent, or Sarah Jarosz first. And David Nail, since there are Lori McKenna and Vince Gill features on that record. And of course, man. I've been spinning your album a lot since it snowed here. Perfect for winter.
Love me some Departures. I was disappointed it didn't make my top 5, maybe 10. Way better than teenage haze but not as good as the first imo.
Death of Youth is a top 3-5 song but much of the rest of the album is a little too mid tempo. I loved the guitar work and pace on Losing Everything but it's felt less invigorating since for me.
Hey! Of the stuff on the list, the things I think would be more your sort of thing would be; FM-84 - Straight from Bandcamp; "Sun-soaked 80s inspired cinematic synth pop from California." I think this is probably the highest recommendation for you on this list. Lake Street Dive. -Very upbeat, soulful, jazzy pop sort of stuff. Great fun. Basia Bulat - Not a world away from Lake Street Dive, but more folky/rocky. Gregory Porter - Jazzy soulful music. Nothing you haven't heard before, but he's doing it very well. The Jezabels - Very Kate Bush inspired alt/indie rock sort of stuff. Youtube/Bandcamp links in the band name there. If you did fancy delving into the funny characters bands, I'd recommend 악동뮤지션 most. It's just lovely, light and breezy Korean pop music. Brother and sister duo.
