Should've added Creeper as an honourable mention on my list. Best EP of the year and right up there in my favourite releases of the year as well.
pathos, by yeule Really good little EP that came out yesterday or the day before. Ambient electro pop (ish...). Highly recommend!
1) Trash Boat - Nothing I Write You Can Change What You've Been Through 2) Pinegrove - Cardinal 3) Modern Baseball - Holy Ghost 4) Jimmy Eat World - Integrity Blues 5) The 1975 - I Like It When You Sleep... 6) Touche Amore - Stage Four 7) Milk Teeth - Vile Child 8) Trophy Eyes - Chemical Miracle 9) Architects - All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us 10) Bon Iver - 22, A Million The top album is Trash Boat's debut, which is just the most album I have gone back to the most, a nice blend of pop-punk and hardcore, and some great lyrics and song writing make it a very fun album from a band I never liked before. Pinegrove was another surprise. Modern Baseball is interesting because YGMIA is one of my favourites, and somehow Holy Ghost feels disappointing despite being third. The Jimmy Eat World album grew on me a lot, after totally leaving me cold at first. The 1975 would totally be higher up, maybe third, if the band just cut the albums down a little, sixteen songs is a couple too many. Milk Teeth definitely released one of the strongest debuts and they could go on to be one of the best bands in the scene for sure. Trophy Eyes album didn't quite stick with me like I hoped but Chlorine is my favourite song of the year.
Also I guess this could also go in the unpopular opinions thread, but Formation by Beyonce is not that good. Certainly not good enough to be SOTY worthy, there's half a dozen better ones on the album alone. I think it's decent, but fairly unremarkable and a bit out of place on the album. It's like a slightly better Run The World.
Ok it's that time of year where everyone tells me what they don't like about my list, ok ready..... GO 1. Kanye West - The Life of Pablo 2. Relient K - Air For Free 3. It's definitely close...10 tracks, 31 minutes, but really only 6 songs on there. I just go by him calling it an EP on his website and Facebook. If it was a proper LP it'd probably be in my top 15.

To be honest I listened to Frightened Rabbit like twice and was really bored both times. Maybe I should go back for round three? Get Out is a fucking jam though.
Perfectly valid critique, and, believe me, one I had for myself as well. I'm sure some can relate but as I get further into my late 20's, I have just found it more and more difficult to get into new stuff and much of the time I'm a little behind. Honestly, a lot of the new stuff I like just didn't have records out this year. For instance, Machine Gun Kelly, twenty one pilots, Red Sun Rising, Failure Anthem, Art Of Anarchy, Vinyl Theatre, Broadside, Story So Far, Run The Jewels - all 2015 (technically RTJ was late 2014 but 2015 was their year). I think Night Riots are great. Opened for them last year, loved their 2015 EP, just haven't deep dived on their album they just put out (loved the single, but again, I'm behind). Same for Highly Suspect. Same for BORNS.
just caught this looking through this thread, you're breaking my heart bby in all honestly making music and being constantly surrounded by musicians has made me very jaded towards it. trying to fix it tho
