Yeah. Usually this time of year @Jason Tate makes a news post requesting lists from band members, label owners and other industry folks. Hope he continues that feature... it's always really fun to see what the people behind the music we love are listening to.
I was going to go to one of their shows (mainly because I wanted to see Hit The Lights) but TSSF and HTL did an off-date that was about 2 hours closer to me so I just went to that instead. I was curious to see how their show would be now that they aren't getting as much mainstream media coverage as they did ~15 years ago.
I never saw them before because I always missed them, but based on videos I saw guess it's still quite similar. They have a varied playlist and they interact with the crowd a lot. Having some big sing-a-long hits helps too I guesss. I do think the crowd is maybe more "devoted" than they crowds were during their big Pop phase, which is a good thing. Like I said, they seemed to have fun, which I think is mostly what their "reunion" has been about anyway. Also, it was the same venue All Time Low played in during their Future Hearts tour and it was sold out, so I guess they're doing well enough in that regard.
I did mine a bit different. Top row are my favorites of 2016, bottom row is my most played (from any year.)
that promise of redemption album was horrible and maybe the worst thing i actually listened to this year
Nice, you've got three of my albums of the year from this decade on here. Yeah, I'd agree with that. I don't think they were bad, though.

Vague attempt at a Top 25. I need to put more effort into cataloging what I listen to as a whole so this list is haphazardly put together. But I like it. 25. PUP - The Dream Is Over 24. i really dont know what he was thinking. by far the worst m83 album and its not even close. how he went from hurry up to that is baffling
Ha! I've noticed we have very similar tastes in music, so I'm always watching your recs. I'm also slow on listening to new music, so sometimes I don't catch an album until late. My favorite record this year (that actually wasn't released this year) has been that Holly Williams record. She is so talented. I heard she's recording with Dave Cobb for a new release soon. If it's anything like "Settle Down" off Southern Family, it'll probably be my favorite record of next year.
2015 redone: 1. Tame Impala - Currents 2. Deafheaven - New Bermuda 3. Sufjan Stevens - Carrie and Lowell 4. Foxing - Dealer 5. Oneohtrix Point Never - Garden of Delete 6. Pyramids - A Northern Meadow 7. Vince Staples - Summertime 06 8. Birds in Row - Personal War 9. Future - 56 Nights 10. Baroness - Purple probably my least change top 10 from the previous year ever
Easily the most confusing first listen I've had this year. I didn't listen to anything prior to release day, so I had no idea what direction he was going in or anything. I was not properly prepared for that album, haha I will listen to anything Dave Cobb produces at this point, haha. Led me to two of my favorite discoveries of this year: Lori McKenna and Brent Cobb.
Kinda forgot that I'm still waiting on the Enemies record to be released. I'm sure that'll edge out at least some of the lower tiered record on my list.
